Stopped in on way home from coast - hadn't been in before. Really enjoyed the food, good beer and seemed busy with locals for Friday early doors. Landlord friendly and attentive.

A lovely local pub set in the quiet village of Snailwell just outside Newmarket. They do a great Sunday lunch (booking essential) and always have a guest ale or two on tap, next to a roaring log fire. Run by the husband and wife team, Kevin and Penny, you are always guaranteed a warm welcome. They have a large garden out the back where they do summer BBQ and events, and dogs are all welcomed. (Their daughter runs a grooming service next to the pub!).

This is the third christmas we have had our family Christmas meal at the George and Dragon.
We initially chose the pub because of it central location for everyone to travel to. I cannot praise the owners and staff highly enough. Always a friendly welcome. The Christmas food was excellent and extremely good value for money. For starter I had soup followed by the traditional turkey meal and finished off with Christmas pudding.
We were a large party comprising of adults and young children. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The food was served Promptly and no one was left waiting.

A terrific country pub...great food and a warm welcome...log fire roaring on a cold winter lunchtime... couldn't ask for better and I will be back for sure.

The service was very nice, attentive and fast, I ordered a Sunday roast and unfortunately my meat was very chewy and had a horrible texture. My partner's sunday roast was ok, I guess I was just unlucky. The crispy squid was tasty and the dessert was my favourite thing, warm jam sponge with custard.

What a delightful place. Owners extremely pleasant and friendly. A lovely welcome. Even being greeted by their dog. Great menu of no nonsense home cooked food. Very reasonably priced. Food was hot and well cooked. Dessert menu was equally as good. Sticky toffee pudding with custard was amazing. This is a definite go back again and again.

Fried chicken sandwich was very good, added bacon, and the veggies were fresh. No mealy tomatoes. Top notch onion rings too.
Very spacious inside and out. No social Distancing worries.
