I have not looked at other reviews for mooring. But if you check out my other reviews I am careful to share spots that are worth your time, money and taste buds. Time spent with staff..top notch and very attentive. Money.. they deliver the goods and it is basically perfect. My only criticism might be my drawn butter solidified in the ice bath. First world problems. Taste buds.. food is delivered as described. When you deserve a great meal go here you won't be disappointed.

We had a Sunday lunch here and while the restaurant was very busy and we were very late for our reservation, they were able to accommodate us and provide the table that we requested. Everything on the menu is excellent - from simplest items, like soup and salad, to their entree items. The service was impeccable. And of course, if you can get a table outside, you can enjoy the view of the wharf.

Great service. Bloody Mary wasn't my favorite and my pasta needed to be changed out for a lobster roll sandwich because there were a few problems with it, however our waitress was GREAT, she wanted to make sure I had a great experience and handled my request like a pro. Nashville hot chicken sandwich got great reviews from my companion. This place is a little more like a themed waterfront pub which I guess works for Np, RI but a little pricey for the food quality and ambiance. A little disappointed because it came recommended by so many people in town but gets the 4 star because of the rock star staff. Great lobster roll redeemed the kitchen.

When my husband suggested we take the year off from cooking Thanksgiving dinner and order take out from The Mooring I was totally against the idea. I love The Mooring but couldn’t get behind the idea of someone else cooking my Thanksgiving dinner. Eventually I decided it was a year unlike any other so it would be a good opportunity to try something new. I had low expectations given the sheer size of the order (wine, salad, Brussels sprouts, corn bread, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, Turkey, cranberry sauce, apple pie) and the fact that often take out doesn’t travel well. To say I was BLOWN AWAY was an understatement. The care with which each food item was packaged was incredible. My family cooks the most phenomenal Thanksgiving dinner and this was as good...if not better (shhhh). Easily the best corn bread I’ve ever eaten. Didn’t know I liked mashed potatoes until I tried these! The Turkey was beyond tasty and moist. Don’t get me started on the stuffing!!! I’ve been so full from eating the main course I haven’t even tried the pie yet! Ha. Not only would I recommend this to everyone I know but we cannot wait to support The Mooring again, they literally saved our Thanksgiving. Thank you to the whole staff. If I could give this meal and presentation 6 stars I would!

Overpriced! Go eat somewhere else. The bag of doughnuts is mostly dough with little seafood in it. The one pictured here actually had the most bits of seafood. Totally not worth $14. Raw bar items were fine and were priced around the Newport standard ($4 shrimp, $2.75 clam). Scallops entree was tasty but not worth the $34 price tag. Service/staff were fine.

Our favorite place in Newport! We made reservations during our "mini moon" and this was absolutely perfect. We wanted so badly to sit outside but no tables were available. Luckily, we were seated right next to the patio and it was amazing. Our servers name was Dan and he was great! Very attentive & humorous. Our food was delicious and the atmosphere was so relaxing and romantic. Would recommend to anyone! You won't be disappointed.
