I was excited to finally try this place then I was excited to get the hell out of there as fast as possible.
The man cooking all the food wore no mask. Seriously, this is a pandemic.
I'm a bit mortified by the other comments on good safety but I asked for my food to go so I could just get out of there. I didn't take the time to see how unclean it was.

Simple and good food. Loved the look of the place. Went there for breakfast and the service was quick. For 2 coffees, a specialty omelet, and a breakfast sandwhich it was around $22.

Menu was pretty simple, your basic breakfast- no wow factor IMO. Specials were posted to the board. I got a special - strawberry/banana pancakes. The strawberries were not fresh, but frozen. Bananas were fresh & it was topped with a good helping of whipped cream. Food was decent. The overall feel was 50s diner. Service was excellent. Waitresses were super friendly & attentive. We walked in & were told to sit wherever & we chose a booth next to the windows. 5 stars for service.

Great food for the price and atmosphere. This is their freedom burger, which is double patty with provolone cheese and lettuce and tomatoes. Is soooo good, I love the flavor and you can really taste the beef meat, burger is juicy and flavorful.
If you are vacationing around Newport, make sure you stop by!

1950's theme. No wait, quick and simple. Staff was attentive, and personable. Family run business. Only drawback was that it's cash only, ATM on site which charged a fee. Omelets and eggs came out hot. You can watch them cook your food.

There are few places as consistently good as Gary's handy lunch. I usually stick to the basics, but last visit we tried two of the daily special omelets, and they were just outstanding. Light, well-balanced ingredients, and delicious. Down to earth neighborhood atmosphere, good food at reasonable prices.
