I am not sure who the tall blonde is but she is a gem hostess. She went above and beyond to get us to seated and she did it with a smile. after that the service was amazing I enjoyed the clam chowder and the shrimp. Everybody here is busting their butt due to Covid. We all have to consider that during Covid things are a lot more difficult and there is less seating with way more headaches because you're dealing with people waiting and waiting and waiting. So the fact that their employees can deal with this with a smile is impressive that is all due to good management and great employees.

I was honestly surprised by how much we enjoyed our meals at the Black Pearl. We sat outside on the annex property and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating of our needs. The drinks (mudslides) are great and the food was excellent. I recommend the crab Benedict and would definitely be back here for brunch.

Absolutely a dynamic experience. Our vacation anniversary dinner was outstanding. Our waitress Isabelle, well versed and attentive to our needs! Isabelle made sure we we were taken care of, from soup to dessert and coffee. Our seating was perfectly nestled in the rear dining room and my wife enjoyed her booth bay window seat. From sunset to moonlight we dined. The appetizer, which came recommended were mussels in challots, garlic and white wine, simply devine. The Ceasar Salad was nice and crisp, the New England Clam Chowder was loaded with clams and served hot, thick and hearty. Our entree's were served hot, a seafood boiled pot topped with lobster for me and shrimp scampi topped with lobster tails for her. Out of this world. Our meal was paired with chilled Nobilo Sauvignon Blanc and San Pelligrino to cleanse our pallette between dishes. The Black Pearl serves a creamy coffee ice cream topped with a sprig of mint, along with our coffee we were dined, wined and full of giddiness. Isabelle was delightful and would chat with us between courses, share stories and make recommendations. When we have an outstanding dining experience coupled with a great food, we tip generously and the chef gets a premium cigar. To our surprise a young and innocent looking chef was asked to come to our table and we presented him with a Romeo y Juietta AJ Fernandez Nicaraguan Belicoso...perfectly befitting our dining experience at The Black Pearl in downtown Newport RI. What an Anniversary Dinner to remember!

Great location and patio vview. You'll want to get a reservation ahead of time since it gets busy. Friendly staff and solid service all around. Cocktails pretty overpriced for how simple and cheap the ingredients are though so I would save your money unless you really need a drink. Fantastic clam chowder. I also had the cajun swordfish sandwich which was delicious.
