Mad Mike's Burgers And Fries

Excellent casual burger place in Newport, about a block from the Levee. One of the best burgers in NKY/Cincinnati area. Fries are fresh-cut like 5 guys or Penn Station. All the burgers are 10/10. Gyros are great too. Pictured is the Rockefeller burger with bleu cheese, onion straws, and mango chutney- great balance of flavors.

Good burgers but service is poor when they’re busy. We visited on a Saturday afternoon shortly after lunch hour. It was packed with people. After waiting 45 minutes for our food, we noticed other people who came in long after us get their food before us. It was frustrating. When we finally got the food it was good, but not worth the wait.

Average place. Food was pretty quick, staff were okay. Burger Pattie’s were way over done, to the point of being tough. Bun was cool to the touch, almost as if it had been refrigerated and not allowed to warm up, and the cheese never melted. The onion straws were also over done to the point of being unrecognizable, more like the crunchies in the bottom of a frying basket. The barbecue sauce was the only thing that had much flavor and it was all that you could taste. Maybe it was just an off day! I won’t say that I wouldn’t try again if I was back in Newport around lunch time, but I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to try again.

Excellent service and great food. We came here on a weekday with a party of 25 on a field trip after visiting the aquarium. We did not call ahead as we had to change to this restaurant due to a student's food allergy. All 25 of us were served efficiently and without any mistakes to our orders. Food was fresh for each person. Our field trip included two classes of students woth special needs and the cashier was patient with them as they ordered. I was so impressed with the staff and service we received considering our situation. Thank you for making us feel welcomed and for your amazing service!

I travel a lot for work and have sampled a lot of burgers coast to coast. Mad Mikes is the ultimate! They have it 100% right! The meat is flavorful, fresh, and juicy. The bun was tasty and warm. It reminded me of really classic comfort food burgers I grew up with that are hard to find today. I highly recommend a double bacon burger. I'm going to be sad when I leave Newport, because in all of Denver ( where I live) no burger compares.

Great Days for the classic Burger that gets to be crafted at Mad Mikes! Oh yes the burger was neatly nesting in a superior homemade delicious golden gluten free bun! This short drop off the highway while passing through Northern KY is well worth it. Meatiful tasting burgers with all the topping to cover. Fresh cut fries hot and salty….Yummmm! It will be on my stop list every time I travel that route! 4.8 Easily!
