El Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant

This is my wife and I's favorite restaurant. We have been coming here weekly to bi-weekly almost for a couple years now and we still are not tired of it. The food is cooked to perfection (and quickly at that) the portions are very generous (expect leftovers) and during this time we have never had a rude or seemingly disinterested server. If you are looking for good Mexican food for the price I cannot recommend this place enough. My go-to dish as of late is the Southwest Enchilada with the shredded chicken.

Ate dinner with 3 friends. One friend was quite knowledgeable about Mexican food. The restaurant was immaculate. We were greeted and promptly seated. There was social distancing between tables. We were served complimentary tortilla chips and salsa. Our food arrived hot. Each of us considered the portion quantity as very generous. Quality was excellent. Drinks were refilled promptly. The cost of each meal was fair, especially considering the atmosphere, service and food quality. We definitely plan to return to this establishment.

Five stars for Sonia! She is so kind. She was very sympathetic to my inability to eat anything crunchy right now due to some mouth pain, and when my earbud rolled all the way under my seat she pulled the table out for me, and would have gotten down and retrieved it herself if I had let her. Ok, now for the food. My margarita was, of course, delicious, and the chicken burrito was so big and tasty I could have easily shared it with a friend! You definitely get your money's worth here, and everything comes out super fast. I had someplace to be, but was able to savor my meal and beverage and still get where I had to go on time. I will definitely be back, and I hope to see Sonia again when I get there!

A friend took me here for my first time ever the other day. He said it had been many years since he had been but they used to have this steak fajita to share. I could tell he had fond memories of it. So we ordered a couple margaritas and steak fajitas to share.. The ambience was good. Staff could have been a little friendlier I don't think I saw one smile but they were efficient. My friend was not impressed with the margaritas I think I've only had one margarita in the past so I couldn't tell a good one from a bad one. They bring out this huge huge platter sizzling full of almost Raw onions and bell peppers (I hear veggies are healthier raw) mixed with overcooked strips of dried steak (and meats safer thoroughly cooked) Sat it down and walked away without so much as a nod of the head & walked away. We just kind of looked at each other noticing no silverware plates or directions on how we were supposed to eat this sizzling pile in front of us. We finally stopped a lady and clumsily asked her if this was all or were we missing anything (taco bell being pretty much my only reference for Mexican food) which started a minute or two of misunderstood conversation between us leaving me and my friend feeling even more perplexed about the whole thing but luckily our server showed up quickly with all the things we needed. Neither of us wanting to complain we scarfed down a couple I didn't even finish my margarita boxed it all up in hopes that someone or animal would eat at least some of the 4 boxes it took to fit it all in & made an excuse to quickly leave. He wouldn't let me see the bill our deal being he pay the bill I paid the tip but he had an obvious ticket shock I've been out to eat with him three other times that month and never saw that reaction any of the other times

Very delicious food, great proportions, overall good food and service, until receiving my check. I had given my credit card to the server, waited for my check, upon receiving it, and noticed my card was not there. Went on over to the bar made sure I had not misplaced it in my wallet and asked for them to check for it. The server thought she had given it to me, I for a second doubted, maybe it fell on her way so went back to the table to double-check. No sign of my card. Went back and waited, after around 4 minutes, and the servers talking amongst themselves I finally was given my card. With a simple, "Im sorry sir". Left a little in distress and forgot my to-go box to make matters worse. From all my restaurant experiences this is the first time something like this has occurred. The response I got after temporarily losing one's credit card, was not to par.
