Flounders

Super busy restaurant, walked in at 1930, queue out into the pavement! The staff at the tills were lovely, took the order swiftly, very polite and welcoming. You get a receipt with a order number, when the food is ready they call you, took about 20 minutes for the order to be made ready. The food came fresh, chips were crispy on the outside and soft inside, fish was fresh, crispy outside and flaky inside. Skampi was on point, the star however was the pea fritter, super delicious. Top chippy, the positive reviews are consistent with the shop.

March 2022: Update Back in Newquay for work and once again we found ourselves craving something normal for a meal in the evening! No choice really, a visit to Flounders for some great food and friendly staff. We were not let down, the staff are so friendly and everything was cooked fresh. I ordered cod, large chips, spicy curry sauce and a bap. I was stuffed by the end! Really can't recommend this place enough, pop in and you won't be disapointed! Also as a bonus they even took my company issued AMEX credit card! I've added some new images below too. Original Post: Was in Newquay for work and fed up with the standard meals out in Indians/Chinese etc, so we decided to have some fish and chips in Flounders. We sat in the shop to eat our food and was welcomed by the friendly staff. I ordered a regular cod and large chips with a spicy curry sauce. The fish was like a whale, it was huge. Batter was nice and crispy with lovely chips, the curry sauce was awesome. My colleagues both enjoyed their food too! This has to be one of the finest fish and chip experiences I have had, highly recommended if you are in the Newquay area!
