Best Indian food in Newton Abbot in my opinion.
Great selection of Nepalese food served alongside a great selection of Indian food.
I can recommend the base camp curry if you like your food spicy.
Got to try the vegetable tikka dish also, the tikka sauce was fantastic.
Everything on the table including the rice and side dishes was presented beautifully and delicious.
The building itself was a little small and more like walking into someone's house rather than a restaurant, but that almost gives it a more homely feel.
I would highly recommend Gurkha Chef, I will absolutely be back and look forward to trying a load of items on the menu you won't find in the usual Indian restaurants

A classic family run Indian, not professional looking but rather, Indian, waitress wearing authentic Indian dress and restaurant looks more like an indian eatery.
The jungle I.e. "Camp" curry, one of the nicest I've had!.
Highly recommended from the Indian food critique that happily gives 1 star reviews.
I will certainly be back!, you've not seen the last of me!!!.

We booked a large group late evening and they kindly accommodated our group. They were able to adjust the spice to cater for our group and the food was absolutely delicious. This was the best Indian food we have had in years! Considering we are of Indian origin, this place is highly recommended. The staff were superb and friendly.
We did some research as we were travelling from Cornwall for a stay in Torquay and were drawn to this place based on the reviews. I can confirm the reviews are absolutely spot on! Thank you for the wonderful service and hospitality.

Terrific food, a little pricey compared to others and the poppadoms were slightly soft. Otherwise a very tasty meal. The atmosphere was a little low as we were in early Sunday evening at opening time.

Don’t judge a book by its cover. From the outside you wouldn’t guess the beauty within. Especially the goat curry was delicious! Really wonderful staff. Would go back again in a heartbeat

First visit, nice meal for six, very attentive service, and made to feel welcome, good range of Indian and Nepalese food (try the mixed dal)

I Delivered A Pallet Of Kathmandu Beers Yesterday And Helped Them Stack Them Away.
Cheekily I Asked Them If There Was Any Lunch I Could Have And WOW.
It Was Too Good To Eat In Me Lorry, Got Home Put On A Plate And Was Probably The BEST Lamb Jalfrazi With Long Grain Rice, I've EVER Eaten.
Lovely People And Absolutely Gorgeous Food.
