We decided to pop in at lunchtime and try the fish deal: 2 meals for £20. As always the food was delicous and the service impeccible. Love the black sheep cider on draft. Desserts were gorgous too. Highly Recommended.

This pub is just awesome. The service was just fantastic, and the food was really really nice. The pub is set in a nice little area (with limited parking so be careful if you come on a busy night). Belly pork was exceptional and the chicken burger was great too. Death by chocolate is recommended. Service was quick, friendly and personal without being intrusive. Drinks were kept topped up, and we were checked up on. If I could give 6* I would.

We visited the Hammer & Pincers for a Wedding and stayed the night in our camper. The Wedding day/night was fantastic, the staff worked extremely hard, were polite and professional and the camping area had everything we needed. We had planned to stay for Sunday lunch but unfortunately had to change our plans. The kitchen staff were very accommodating and gave us a take away instead. Thank you for everything.

Recently visited, food was tasty and piping hot, large portions, service was good. A nice modern environment and clean. It would be best to reserve a table in advance or you probably won't get one, if dropping into the premises on the off chance of a table.

Having never visited before and having several challenges due to my neuro diversity, I cannot thank Rachel and the team enough for her helpfulness, understanding and hospitality. Thank you! Lovely cozy pub in a countryside setting, enjoyed a damn fine lunch time butty and pot of tea. Will look forward to a return visit for a pint and pub tea. Thank you again x UPDATE been twice more and every time ultra accommodating and great food ⭐

Very friendly staff but not 'pushy'. The food was beautiful and very reasonably priced and there was a great atmosphere. My partner and I had Sunday lunch. I had pork and he had chicken. The meat was tender and tasty and came with mash, roasties, homemade Yorkshire pudding, mixed veg and gravy. All beautifully cooked and tasted delicious. We'll definitely go back.

We both eat here and stayed in the camping... Both were fab! The camp site is really good, there's a mix of hardstandings for caravans, some with water and drainage others with electric and some with neither, all the pitches seemed to be pretty level though. There's also a big grassy field for tents, with a couple of hookups. Facilities are basic but good, 3 showers and about 7 loos, which was plenty even when it was busy on the August bank holiday. It's a chilled site but not necessarily peaceful.. it's on the main trainline and not far from a main road; there was a wedding on and a big group of campers which both had loud music - we really liked the atmosphere though and had no problems getting the kids to sleep. Expect if you ask when booking they'll know if there's anything on. Aside from that there was lots of free space for the children to play, which is what you want from a site like this really! Pub was also very nice, it was busy the first day and we couldn't get a table to eat so book ahead. Did have a drink from the wide selection and the children played on the pirate ship in the garden. We managed to have dinner another night, was really nice and the place was clearly still very popular on a Tuesday night... Really great service and lovely food. We ended up extending our stay as it was such a good place to chill out and the weather was lovely. Only down side was we booked for electrics but there wasn't any available when we turned up. Expect they have big future plans for the site so make the most of things while it's a bargain!
