I have visited here before for Afternoon Tea which was perfect. This time our visit was for breakfast and it was wonderful. Whilst Norwich does have an abundance of breakfast eateries they are often too busy, too small and often have no tables. It’s too hectic for a breakfast environment. The Assembly house is grand and elegant and each of the rooms have their own identity. We sat down for breakfast, it was quiet, peaceful and relaxing. We sat at a large table by the window and took in the ambience whilst sipping delicious full bodied cappuccino’s. There’s a wide selection on offer for breakfast and we both chose to have the Full English Breakfast. The added bonus I was able to substitute the black pudding for a sausage! Bonus! The food was beautiful, high quality ingredients and fresh produce. Perfect bacon, thin, full of flavour and not too salty. The breakfast wasn’t greasy and I didn’t suffer with indigestion for the rest of the day. It was perfect. I think this may now be my go to place for breakfast. A perfect setting in a lovely environment away from the hustle and bustle of Norwich.

Absolutely the next place for afternoon tea, actually now enroute to try the Sunday Lunch. I always recommend The Assembly House due to the food being exceptional and the staff being friendly too. Love this place

Had a great Peter Pan themed afternoon tea to celebrate my partners birthday. They even brought him a little birthday card, and birthday brownie which was a really nice gesture! I had a vegan afternoon tea and was pleasantly surprised that this was no trouble for them, I could have the exact same as the normal afternoon tea (just with different ingredients of course). Excellent service, staff were very friendly and the food was delicious! I would highly recommend. (We also had the peach ice tea 🍑 which was delicious).

Enjoyed a one night stay here with the special afternoon tea offer which I think is good value, excellent central location and huge rooms, all staff we met were absolutely first class and the owners should be very proud of them, the afternoon tea I felt slightly disappointed by the contents but it was all perfectly edible and the service was excellent. The breakfast choice was really good and very generous and again the gentleman in charge of service was a real credit to the hotel. The only real negative for us was the place is looking a little tired and looks like it would benefit from a bit of a refresh.

Wonderful afternoon tea in the restaurant. Gorgeous building, very friendly staff and amazing food! Service was so lovely, despite the fire alarm going off, which didn't affect our visit at all. Plus staff offered fresh hot drinks and to warm our scones on returning to our table. Highly recommend and already looking to book again.

Visited for the afternoon tea. It's the best afternoon tea I have ever had. I have coeliac disease, and they were able to accommodate that. You couldn't even tell from looking at it that it was gf. The sausage roll and cheese scone were exceptional. The servers were very welcoming and informative. Would 100% recommend it.

We went to the assembly house for breakfast. We ordered the beforenoon tea. A delicious breakfast of your choice with a afternoon tea style stand afterwards designed for breakfast. The atmosphere, history and rooms are incredible. I love the architecture in older buildings. Hidden away in the heart of Norwich, it is absolutely beautiful. Kind and friendly staff. I ordered the egg Benedict with salmon. The best I’ve ever had 10/10. Perfect balance of flavours. Would 100% recommend. The stand had delicious little pastries and cheese scones at the bottom with a chutney. Overall fantastic food, really fresh and great quality. We thought the sizes of food was perfect not too much or too little. We thought the price was spot on too. 100% would recommend going!

The Assembly House went above and beyond to ensure that my birthday celebration was a truly special event. We had three wheelchair users in the party, so they allowed us to book the beautiful Hobart Room to ensure that we would all have space to safely move around without issue, as well as being close to the accessible toilet. Our group included many people with different neurodivergent conditions, so having this private space really allowed us to feel properly comfortable and safe. We are also a queer and gender diverse bunch, and the staff never used gendered terms for anyone that you often encounter in restaurants and the like, which was amazing. The biggest thank you to all staff that made this possible. Everyone was amazing and I always received incredibly fast, well explained information for any query I had, and never made to feel like a bother. Staff on the day were attentive, friendly and delightful. We had the Peter Pan themed afternoon tea and it was so adorably whimsical, something I definitely won't be forgetting in a hurry.

I held my sisters suprise baby shower at the Assembly house a few weeks ago. The service i experienced was next to none. I chose all the specific details over phone and email with Katie. She was amazing with answering all of my questions and always emailing back so quickly! On the day the team were amazing, especially Kirsten. She helped set up the extra decorations when we arrived, kept checking in and made everything stress-free i cannot thank her enough!

Wonderful evening of music and candle light creates an amazing atmosphere for the concert of 4 seasons, first visit to venue, just major road works getting there. Would recommend to others. Looking forward to another concert.

We came here for afternoon tea to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The service was very friendly and helpful. The afternoon tea itself was very lovely apart from the white bread was a bit hard. We throughly enjoyed our free brownies that had Happy Anniversary written on to it. The only think that spoilt for us, was they automatically put a tip charge on the bill of £5, it would have nice to have been asked if we wanted to leave a tip.
