I can't recommend these guys highly enough. The service was above and beyond. Then I got the food home and it was very, very good. I'll be back: you should go.
An extraordinary delicacy place where authentic Indian/Pakistani food is being served. A short hop kinda place which is quite congested, service little slow here but food is mind blowing.
Tried veg platters in the beginning, going forward with archari paneer and paneer butter masala, to be honest, it was really good. The presentation didn't excite me though, but we can adjust if you get Indian food in Notts.
Deserts were quite attractive and literally stole my heart, specially gulab jamun with icecream! Loved it.
Excellent food, great service.. This is really a hidden treasure in Nottingham city centre. I've eaten there three times in the last fortnight while back in the UK on business. The decor and table settings are plain compared with some Indian restaurants, but the quality of the food and service are spot on. The owner and staff are friendly and very willing to make recommendations.
I've had the Lamb Madras, Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Rogan Josh so far and each has the requisite layers of flavour. I tend to judge an Indian chef's skill based on an ability to apply heat without destroying the underlying explosion of flavour in the blend of spices used as a basis for the sauce. The food prepared here does not disappoint. The garlic naan may not be quite as light and fluffy as in other places, but the garlic is baked in and not added as an afterthought.
I'll be back!
Hidden gem. I've been eating in the Balti House for near on 20 years now.
The staff are always very friendly and the food superb.
Sam is a great host and will always find time to talk to you whether in a group or on your own.
If you like Indian food you really must try this place. The food is excellent and over the years I've tried more of the spicy dishes. Chicken Ceylon is the hottest i will go..but along with the heat there is such great flavour!
Do not deny your taste buds the opportunity to sample the food.
Additionally if you don't have time to sit and eat they will prepare your food to take out and book a cab for you should you require one.
In all a very enjoyable experience.
Get yourselves down there!
Discovered this place randomly and must say I have become quite the regular... The general atmosphere is friendly, staff are courteous, attentive and always get service with a smile. The food is impeccable and special credit must go to the chef he really knows how to cook a lamb balti.. The blend of spices used and the aroma of this dish will certainly get ur tastebuds going..Very flavoursome to say the least and truly authentic! Highly recommended by myself.. Although I like my food to be hotter than some can handle, the chef can really cater to specific preferences and this is demonstrated in what they serve..They were more than happy to comply when asked.. So if ur in Nottingham give this place a go.. U wnt be disappointed.
Very reliable, always decent curries.. The great thing about the Balti House is that it gets the basics right. The curries dont look like an oil slick, and arent overloaded with raw spices, you can taste everything thats supposed to be there. Food is always good. I usually go for the set meal, and rarely can you come across a good restaurant where you get change from a tenner after getting a starter, main course and also rice. (i think the set meal is about £8).
Excellent Food!. Having first tried, and became a regular of the original restaurant that The Balti House has superseeded, it was natural to sample what was on offer.
My first return visit was a couple of years ago, and Im actually pleased to say it hasnt changed drastically.
And neither has the food, having started on the Asian food trip, more years ago than I will admit, I have tried many restaurants in the East Midlands, and I can honestly say the food at The Balti House is exactly as it should be.
Many places are "posher" but, I have yet to try one that ticks the right box as far as the flavour of the food is concerned.
The Balti House does, and that is why I have returned a good number of times since "rediscovering" the place.

Love this place, food and service is amazing and Sam the owner is a great guy, nothing is too much to ask.
Rogan Josh was to die for!
Went here for date night as tried every other Indian restaurant and takeaway in the Nottingham area and this place beats them all.
We was greeted at the door and shown to a table where we was served with popadoms whilst we waited for our food.
The service was AMAZING and felt like the most welcome atmosphere in Nottingham.
I would recommend this place to EVERYONE as it’s authentic food where as a lot of other places are fake googled recipe and use food colouring.
This little restaurant was amazing, the food the atmosphere and the service. Would highly recommend to anyone.
This food was so nice I want to go back already. Staff are friendly, and helpful. Such a relaxing feel inside with the decor and music, I didn't want to leave.
Wow is all I can say. I had seen some good reviews so I thought I would give The Balti House a try. The best Indian meal I have had for years. Chicken Puri was amazing fluffy bread and well spiced and flavoured chicken, the main meal was equally as good. Kema nann was well cooked with just the right amount of spice. The host was fantastic really friendly and chatty.
I will definitely be back next time I'm in Nottingham.
Fantastic food and great service for a very reasonable price. Found a new favourite place and will be back soon. Would recommend without hesitation and can’t believe it’s taken me this long to find the Balti House!
I saw the reviews for this restaurant and booked a table to see if the reviews were true, the food was amazing! There was 3 of us that went, we ordered from the vegan menu and we all walked away very happy with all the food we had. I highly recommend going here and will definitely be going back.
We had a lovely curry I had chicken madras other half had chicken korma. Thoroughly enjoyed it. a great chat with owner had a good old reminiscences about old Indian restuarants in notts .poppadoms with Terry and bash great lads. Hymalaya and koh i noor thi k spelt that wrong. Will be back when go back nottingham visit .was about 6 months ago when we last went
Firstly the customer service was warm and welcoming really make u feel at ease, then there’s the food, everything is so tasty it’s like an explosion of spices for ur pallet too explore, would defiantly recommend eating here 10/10
Best way I can explain the place is family warmth.
Decent staff. Food was beyond brilliant. Genuine authentic Indian (non halal). Extremely worth going! Staff were so nice. Very welcoming.
Try the Peru dishes! It's good to see a curry house with a twist and a few actually unique things on the menu!
Delicious meal, very friendly and personal service. We tried the "Peru inspired" Creamy Rogan josh which was delicious, and very different to a run of the mill curry, and a nice story to go with it too. We also the meat balti which again was great, not too spicy but really nice.
We have been meaning to visit for a while as actually our local but now we have tried we will back again really soon. :)
This Restaurant has been here since 1970. Food was excellent as always, service was impeccable, and the most welcoming atmosphere. Love it🥰
