It was the first time I visited Hartleys, as most of the times I pass by it is closed. Positioned in the centre of Hockley, in one of the most alternative and interesting places in Nottingham, you will surely find it as you stroll around Lace Market.
I was so positively surprised by the friendly staff, the very big selection of salads/sandwiches (quantities are also really good) and of course from the prices. Make sure you visit them, for lunch, or brunch, and if you are lucky enough to be there on a sunny day, enjoy the sitting area outside.
Great place. This is a lovely little independent coffee shop run by dawn and Kevin and the girls.

Fab little cafe, really friendly and very well priced for food. A wonderful cup of Earl Grey also.

came here for brunch with friends, between us we tried both the vegetarian and vegan breakfasts, as well as hot and iced lattes. was very impressed by the range of dishes offered and the way that the vegan and veggie dishes didn’t just seem like an afterthought. very reasonably priced - full English with a coffee for £11 a head and not lacking on quality or portion size either!! coffee was great too, and we were told that it’s from a local roaster too which is great. Staff were very polite and friendly and it’s just so nice to find another cosy spot that is reasonably priced and caters to everyone!!!
Really quaint little cafe with lovely service and really good food, all at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend Hockley Kitchen!
After searching for several breakfast places in Notthingham, I decided to bring my friends at Hockleys.
We ordered ...
1. Pancakes with Nutella > taste wise it is 8.5/10. It was very filling.
2. Scrambled eggs on toast and an extra bacon.
The breads were covered in butter and the portions were very filling as well. 9/10.
3. Cappuccino > 10/10. Must try.
4. Strawberry 🍓 delight smoothie > 7.5/10.
I will recommend everyone to visit this place as it's extremely budget friendly.

Great little cafe. Food is excellent staff are welcoming and friendly. Only downside is the size not much seating area. Luckily we can before the rush.
Absolutely fabulous sausage sandwich made by the lovely Justyna. Great location, really friendly staff, fast service, relaxing environment, a little oasis in the mayhem that is Christmas shopping in Nottingham. Highly recommend.
Lovely food, quick service but quite a small cafe so didn’t feel like we had a lot of room and it felt like the tables next to us could head every word of our conversation. Other than that I can’t fault Hockey Kitchen and would happily return!
Breakfast was superb, tasted great and was really good value. Had a smoothie to accompany it and that was also really good. I believe you can have them to go. Atmosphere was very laid back and the interior was cool too. Really liked the music which was being played. Plenty of outdoor seating available. Perfect way to start the day before watching the cricket.
