We had a lovely carvery on Sunday. The place was pretty busy but we were able to get a table for a birthday meal. The meat was nicely cooked and there was a good selection of pork, ham, turkey and beef. There was a better than usual selection of vegetables too. Recommended
Lovely pub with great food. There was a little wait when we arrived as our table was being set but the staff were apologetic as it was very busy. Even though busy, we were sat comfortably. Service was brilliant, carvery was everything and more, there was a choice of a few meats and so much to choose from in terms of trimmings and the server on the meat was excellent. A really kind and talkative man, made us feel very welcome. A great experience all round, with great service and excellent food. I can't recommend the carvery enough.
Enjoyed our Sunday carvery here last Sunday. Chef is very friendly and cheerful, staff love,y and helpful. Food plenty and very good quality. I will be back
We went to celebrate my husband's birthday. We both had turkey, and we were the first in the queue. The turkey was dry, tough and pink, so couldn't eat it. The vegetables were good though. The service was good. It's a shame that the food wasn't as good as it has been in the past. This place used to be our favourite, but after today's disappointment, we will find another place next time.
One of the best carveries I've experienced!
There's normally a selection of 4 meats and at least triple that of vegetables!
£14.50 for a Sunday lunch carvery may seem a premium price, but the quality is very good.
The starter and pudding options are good and reasonably priced, but these are perhaps only needed for the greedy as the carvery portion is very generous.
We will definitely be back...
Have stopped here many times and always feel welcome and settled upon arrival. The team are great, and the pub itself is very warm, welcoming and perfect on a cold day or evening.
The prices are a little on the high-side, but this is worth it as I've always had a consistent and fantastic experience at The Rancliffe Arms.
Good location, and in the centre of the countryside so can couple this with either a walk or stop if you're heading out into Loughborough.
Lovely old pub, but being old was probably hard to heat as not very warm in there. After meal we sat near the open fire which hadn't been tended to, wanted to stay longer but wanted to go home to get warm. Staff were great but a bit understaffed as they did their best but could have done with some help. Menu said Festive menu but nothing on for the Xmas season . The food we did have was excellent. We had the duck for starter and i had salmon and my friend had meat pie for mains.
I just had a beer here but the place is really nice and pleasant
Excellent food and service from the staff, especially Danny at the carvery counter - first time we have been here and he made us feel very welcome.
Been coming here since just 5 years old (I'm now 14) and every time it doesn't dissapoint. The service is amazing and well managed, the food is freshly prepped (especially good on a sunday carvery) and people have a large amount of respect for each other. Overall amazing experience and nothing compares.
