Reliably excellent food and service. You know you’ll never be disappointed with a meal here. Great quality food, extremely thoughtful owners and extensive menu. Picking only one pudding is always the biggest challenge!

We really enjoyed our visit for my husband's birthday. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was great. The food was so good we had 3 courses! We loved the black pudding scotch egg and the duck parfait; my husband had the grouse which he said was perfect, and I felt the same about my breast of chicken with girolles. The pudding platter was superb and we'll remember that for a long time to come. We loved our wine choices too - Nyetimber English sparkling wine, viognier and Australian pinot noir. All in all, a fantastic visit and excellent value for money.

Beautiful food in a quiet location. Staff so helpful and enthusiastic. The lady in charge is very professional and friendly. We use this place as a stop , while travelling from the North to the South. It’s reliable too so when I book , I know what to expect. A little gem!

Flawless!! We went for lunch yesterday and it was truly exceptional. The food was delicious, meticulously presented and portioned perfectly. The staff were all knowledgable, welcoming and attentive. We took my grandad for lunch and the team even gave him a card which was adorable. Thank you so much.

One of our favourite places in Oakham. The food is fantastic, the choice of wines is excellent and the service is second to none. That's why we try to make it every month.

What an absolutely smashing lunchtime we had with our friends who have been here on a few occasions and said we would not be disappointed. We certainly were not. Food absolutely delicious and service fantastic. We went as a delayed birthday lunch from February and will definitely be going back. I've attached a photo of my cheese soufflé, cod with crab crust and chocolate fondant, and rhubarb cheesecake. Really good choice of meals, complimentary bread and we tried marmite butter, which was very interesting to say the least. Like they say you either love it or hate it. We loved it. Everything was absolutely delicious. Thank you to all the staff.
