The Hungry Kitchen

Hungry Birds is a wonderful cafe which my wife and I visit whenever we get to Oakham. The food is lovely, my favourites being the Welsh Rarebit and once December arrives the mince pies. The cakes look fantastic ( I personally don’t eat many cakes) and the breakfasts are great. It’s a cafe that gives great, friendly service and very good value for money. Thanks from Ian and Julia

My family and I ate here thrice during our 2 week holiday, we are from Holland. We could not get enough! Amazing pastries and cakes, really good drinks and the larger dishes are good too! We even ate there on the day we went back to holland and got 4 slices of cake to take home, and really really want to come back for Hungry Birds!!!! And can we also talk about the interior??? Absolutely amazing. Can't get enough.

I recently visited Hungry Birds cafe in Oakham and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming, which really added to the atmosphere of the cafe. One thing that really stood out to me was the impressive selection of vegetarian options on the menu. It's not always easy to find good vegetarian options at cafes, but Hungry Birds had a wide range of delicious dishes to choose from. The food was fresh and flavourful, and I left feeling completely satisfied. Overall, I would highly recommend Hungry Birds to anyone looking for a cosy, welcoming cafe with great food and even better service. The choice of vegetarian options and the friendly staff make it a standout among local cafes.

Just arrived In Oakham, ready for a drink and came home this place! Funky yet chic, welcoming staff with characterful environment. Amazing array of cakes! I had Welsh Rarebit which was delicious and my husband had a falafel wrap which was substantial, filing and very tasty. With drinks it cost us circa £17 and was worth every penny.
