We went for Sunday lunch. 3 adults and 2 large dogs. I rang in advance to check they were dog friendly (as we were visiting from Derbyshire) and they said they were and reserved a table in their conservatory. When we arrived our dogs were bigger than they expected so they seated us in a lovely snug. Our food was superb (2 of us had Sunday lunch and 1 a burger meal and 2 had apple pie and custard.) I asked if they could do us a sausage each for our dogs so they could have some lunch too and it was no trouble at all. We were charged £1/sausage which i thought was very reasonable. We were even asked if we wanted the sausages hot or cold. I opted for cold. The staff even served the dogs sausage cut up in a dog bowl each. The staff were amazingly dog friendly and made a super fuss of our dogs. We were not neglected either. We would highly recommend this venue for other dog owners especially, or just people who like good food in a lovely environment. The venue was very clean, homely with lovely decor and very friendly. We'll definitely return. To all the staff, thankyou for making us so welcome.
We have just been to the Abbey Arms for a meal, 5 adults and 2 children, and the food was fantastic. This is the second time we have been here recently and both times the food was great, the service was fab with helpful and really friendly staff and the pub itself is lovely. I definitely recommend it and will be back soon.
Very good food and atmosphere, with a warm welcome and lots of friendly banter from the manager. The pub is huge, with a large beer garden and large car park. The menu has all the expected favourites plus lots of treats you don't find in other pubs. Make sure you read the whole menu before ordering so you don't miss out! On a Wednesday, they run an offer. If you buy 2 glasses of wine, then you get the whole bottle. What a great idea! Its easy to see why they have just won another pub of the year award. We will definitely be returning.
Took a trip here for the first time for some lunch and wasn't disappointed! The staff were welcoming and as attentive as they needed to be, everywhere was nice and clean, the food was delicious and the steak was cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend taking the time to make a trip here!
I've wanted to stop here for years. Every time I've visited Delamere Forest, I've passed this place on the crossroads and thought "that looks nice". Well, I can confirm after today that it is nice!! Nice staff, nice decor, nice service, nice ambience, nice drinks, nice people. I'd definitely stop again.
Food was good, friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Such a lovely cosy pub, we always call here whenever we are going to Delamere Forest, and come for family meals and our anniversary. The staff are always so welcoming and friendly. We have always had a great meal here, also great menu for vegans/vegetarians and have made adjustments to dishes for us so we were able to order them. The menu isn't the cheapest, but you definitely get what you pay for and the quality of food is fantastic. Can't wait to return again.
Great pub/restaurant. We turned up for Wednesday dinner. All 23 of us on motorcycles. The staff/management where a bit pannicky but showed us to our tables. The food was amazing and served with a smile.
Been here twice now. Lovely staff lovely atmosphere. Food was great had the peri peri burger deffo recommended.
Service was efficient and polite. Gutted didn't get the pudding I wanted. Erin and other lovely waiter that served us was brilliant. Travelled here as a halfway point to meet a good friend. Once again I walked away a happy customer. Toilets tables surroundings all very clean. Whoever is running this establishment is doing everything right ✅️ 👏 10/10 I would recommend this place and I will definitely be back in the future. Also they asked about allergys very efficient.
Arrived late evening and it was very busy, we hadn't booked a table. We received a very warm welcome from staff who arranged a table for us after a couple of drinks. The food was delicious. Highly recommend the Vale Royal Abbey Arms for food and drink. A very warm and welcoming atmosphere and the staff are lovely. Close if you're staying near Delamere Forest as it's only a short walk away.
Lovely evening with Family on Saturday night. Although I'm not Vegan, I opted for one of the the Vegan Starter and main courses, they were delicious. The lady that served us was so polite, and couldn't have done any more for us. A really nice night 😃
We visited after a walk round Delamere for a much needed Sunday roast. Noticed the Sunday roast sharer which offered 3 meats ( a nice slice each of gammon beef and Turkey) a Yorkshire pudding each, cauliflower cheese and veg to share, pigs in blankets, roasties, creamy mash, a stuffing ball and unlimited pots of gorgeous gravy. The food really was gorgeous the only thing I can say is the mash wasn’t enough for a child per person so we did ask for an extra bowl Between us which was absolutely fine and I was glad I asked for more as it was so nice!
Nice and busy not too busy but with a good atmosphere
Noticed a few log burners which I am looking forward to returning in winter when they are roaring
