Oban Chocolate Company

You are hit with the beautiful aromas of coffee and chocolate upon entering the premises, a beautiful presentation of chocolate assortments, and an inviting café bar. I pondered over a small selection of ice cream flavours, finally deciding on elderflower and gooseberry - which was a surprise to me as I don't usually like elderflower, but after sampling it I had to have it. I ordered a Caramel Mocha Coffee which was prepared beautifully, and tasted just as good. The rest of my party had icecream, and a Dark Mocha, a Tea, and a Rich Milk Hot Chocolate, which was very strong chocolate - to the point that my young guest found it overwhelming, and a staff member kindly weakened it by heating up some plain milk. Overall hands down the best experience if icecream and coffee I've had - thank you and I will return!

Forget all the usual high street shops and cheap chocolate from the Grocery stores... This is the real deal. Oban Chocolate shop is an independent cafe & chocolatier and makes gorgeous sweets as well as offering other delights including hot drinks (the hot chocolate is to die for). They sometimes make amazing waffles too as well as selling boxed chocolate gifts and single chocolates by weight. The staff are super friendly and the cafe is now run as a takeaway although you can still sit inside if it's not very nice weather. The shop is located directly opposite the bay , close to the North Pier which possibly means it gets missed by some of the tourists wandering down George Street but it's definitely worth popping down the road to get a great view while enjoying hand-crafted drinks and delightful chocolates.

An absolute must if you’re in Oban for any stretch of time. The chocolates themselves? Brilliant, exciting flavours, and loads of vegan options. And then the cafe is just lovely, with something for everyone. My sister got a vegan hot chocolate and insisted we return multiple times throughout the week, and I really appreciated that they had such a range of options when it came to fancier hot chocolates. They, of course, had the bog standard milk hot chocolate, but they also had some more refined options available for if someone was particularly passionate about trying different cocoas from different parts of the world. A can’t miss stop for any chocolate lover, or anyone who KNOWS a chocolate lover.

We came here in 2021, and it was sit-in service; it was really good and something we've been wanting to come back to since. However, it has changed. It is now takeaway only, the waffles come in a cardboard tray, there are no customer toilets, there is only one menu taped to till (which for a person with anxiety is a terrible situation when there is a queue), and they only serve the waffles at set times. We won't be rushing back unfortunately. Waffles and coffee were still good.

This was an amazing find, located on the promenade in Oban, they have a chocolate shop with a lot of selection and a cafe which offers hot chocolate, coffees both iced and hot and many amazing cakes which are all chocolate based. They also have ice cream and milk shakes which lookes very good. I would recommend if in the area. The only negative is they do not have a bathroom and the closed local bathroom is a few minutes walk away and coats 50p
