Quite traditional pub, with my favourite beer on cask. The food was also excellent: I had a chicken, ham, and leek pie. The crust was firm enough to contain the tasty filling, but not at all tough or chewy. My only complaint is that like most pubs nowadays they play music over the speakers. See the lovely book "Notes on a Beermat" by Nicholas Pashley for an extended lament about that.

I thought the food was fine (fish and chips) and my mother loved the atmosphere, but my father had a bad experience with the pie. There was a good selection of drinks and service was awesome. The dessert (crumble) was tasty too.

Came to this pub after having a panic attack. The atmosphere was chill, the bar staff were so lovely and welcoming. Exactly what I needed. The place was spotless and reasonably priced. Sat in the garden with my mum and daughter until I felt well enough to leave. That was very much helped by the easy going and friendly nature of the staff. Thank you for making my day so much better, and for finding my phone!

Lovely Saturday lunch with the family. The meals were excellent, though it took a while to come out to us. Not very busy, with plenty of spare tables but they were probably booked for later. Great pint of Doom Bar too.

I very much enjoyed the whole experience. The food (Sunday Roast) was delicious & there was plenty of it. Pudding, the creme brulee, was also above average. Maria, whom I met on Sat. when I came in to make a reservation, was very friendly & helpful. Please let her know that I had a wonderful time dining there. It's a lovely place, as well. My only very minor issue was that I wasn't aware that after being served the main course, I would need to go to the bar to order pudding, so was feeling rather ignored for a while. However, that was the only negative aspect of the entire visit.

Our favorite items on the menu are the halloumi fries and the bangers & mash. It is clean, the staff is friendly and the washrooms are clean. The music is great. The food arrives quickly and the portions are really good. Great value for the money!

Excellent pub with quirky separate rooms & several outside areas. We had Sunday lunch. Excellent & memorable. The cauliflower cheese add on was well worth having. It was quiet. Not sure why. It should be packed. Great food. Great value.

Beautiful pub, recently renovated, excellent food and the beer is amazing. I highly recommend Steak, Shin & Pale Ale and Neck Oil.

Sunday lunch for 2 booked on basis of previous reviews. After a slightly slow start at the bar we had really personable prompt service from a member of staff with great sense of humour. We chose the sunday lunch sharing board, very generous amount of food, including the 3 meats. Roast beef was rare-pink-juicy and pork melted in the mouth. There's outdoor space, but for that you order at bar, its not table service. Ladies toilets were quite fresh (smell & decor) and not cramped. It's a lovely old building made up of lots of different rooms - a nice traditional feel which I'd bring my overseas guests to experience.
