5-1 Diner

This place was fantastic. It was a short wait and well worth it. I had the breakfast burrito, and it was excellent. Warm fluffy eggs, crispy tortilla shell, it was honestly mouthwatering. It's a good place to get a quick, cheap bite and it's always delicious. Also the atmosphere is very calming. Definitely coming back here

Honestly, my meal wasn't the best. Ordered the steak sandwich with fries for takeout and it didn't turn out like I expected. The tomatoes soaked the sandwich bread which fell apart as I tried to use my canines for each bite due to the meat being tough and well-done. The lettuce contributed very little and the sandwich left me with a sore jaw/ empty stomach. I called the restaurant before leaving a review and the owner was more than happy to make things right. After this experience I decided to give it one more go before posting and while the staff was extremely understanding, willing to do their best to avoid another unpleasant experience, it was conclusive that the steak sandwich just isn't right, at least for myself. Not to parade my own opinion on what should be done to bring glory to the sandwich I have now battled twice, both ending in a draw, I figured constructive criticism couldn't hurt so why not give some anyways. The number one thing I would recommend being done is to slice the steak against the grain before putting it on the sandwich. If you've ever tried eating a steak without utensils but rather just the teeth in your mouth you'll soon realize its a game of tug-of-war. Add a bun that's toasted slightly more, otherwise failing to create a better barrier from the tomato juices seeping into its pores and you've got something that wont disintegrate like the sands of time. The fries were delicious and their omelets are to die for, 4 stars would definitely recommend getting breakfast here!

Located in cute and pretty downtown Oxford, this diner's food is tasty and they offer gluten free options! Enjoyed the food with 2 separate carry-outs. They offer dine in service as well. Be aware with carry-outs to check your orders. The 2nd time we had a larger order and they left out the toast for an omelette, 2 salads and all the condiments we requested when we placed our order by phone.

Went for Easter breakfast, I completely understand being short staffed, and things taking longer, but we walked in and no one said anything to use for a good 10 mins, it was seat yourself, but there was 5 tables not bussed. We finally got seated, took order for drinks, 3 of the 5 drinks came, took a couple reminders as our waitress did silverware and about half an hr for the other two drinks. Meals took quite a while to arrive even with three cooks who worked with no gloves the entire time and when they did one by one come out, all but the tater tots were cold. Never got asked if we needed a box, or given our bill. Finally went to the front and just paid there.
