I’ve orderd from most take aways after living in Oxford for over 20 years. Bombay exspress impressed me with thier flavour and the quality of thier food.
The food was not swimming in oil like other Indian take aways these days. The onion bajis where made to perfection. Light, fluffy and soft. I could even taste a subtle sweetness where the onions have been cooked with so much care and really caramelised.
The lamb jelfrazi was absolutely Phenomenal. You can tell that the dish has been worked on and perfected. The flavours where a whole new level I could smell so many aromas and the taste was complex. It was not a simple spicy tomato sauce with lots of oil, it was a really original and advanced in its flavours
Again the pasanda was lovely. The lamb was so soft and not tough or dry. Lovely and creamy and again no overload off oil.
This kitchen has a clear passion to serve high quality flavourful food and the meal really stood out with its veriaty of authentic flavours. They really seem to have taken care to mastered each dish individually.
Who ever is cooking really has a talent and a passion for food. It’s like a breath of fresh air having a confident chef who can bring a dish to life and bring their skill. Along with reasonable prices. What a Gem in Oxford.
My final thoughts would be this chef would be amazing for catering as the dishes is inspiring
Bombay express is now a firm favourite of ours for a brilliant Indian takeaway. We have ordered many times from these guys and we always get fantastic curries and great service. The guys are super friendly and our curry is always delivered with a smile.
Their Bombay potatoes are 100% the best I've tried in Oxford! We have tried lots of their curries now. My partner's favourite is the naga... nice and hot but also full of flavour. I love the butter chicken and tikka masala. I would fully recommend these guys if you are looking for a hearty and delicious Indian takeaway!

Based on the reviews I was excited to try Bombay Express, and it didn't disappoint. Vegan friendly options, and helpful staff who were happy to make recommendations and modify my selection. Excellent portions, delivered piping hot. This will be my new go-to for Indian takeaways in Oxford.

Definitely one of the best Indian takeaways in Oxford. Have had food from here 3ish times now and it always blows me away. The flavours are amazing, the portions are generous, and even the paneer has been cooked in the tandoori! Huge naan and beautiful puri, I can only recommend you order some for yourself asap!

I did call the restaurant because I was a little disappointed in the amount of lamb in the curries. Containers where not very full of sauce or meat. I understand with not wanting the sauce to spill and I was told they usually put 6 pieces in but unfortunately today that was not the case today and I was directed to speak to Deliveroo. Maybe I Could of had an apology or been asked for more info or to email a photo…
But thier is no denying the food was tasty and fresh. Onion bahjis where very crispy but not dry and the rice was not overly oily. The pashwari Narn is amazing. Definitely one of the top Indian restaurants so a shame about the meat. As a whole very enjoyable.
The best take away ever! Food is consistent, tastes great every time, service is excellent & staff members always follow any instructions given when placing orders. The first time we ordered we saw the good reviews and expected a lot, when we received our food we were blown away at how good everything was, beyond our expectations! Since then we have ordered around 6/7 times and every time the food has been brilliant. Thank you for always looking after us. Easily the number 1 food delivery place in Oxford. I am certain that in the coming years they will certainly be among the best food take away businesses in the U.K.
We've ordered from Bombay Express regularly since their opening and have never been disappointed. We've chosen a range from their menu and each time the standard is consistently good, delicious flavours, excellent portions. We're always on the look out flavoursome yet spicy asian food and this hits the mark of authenticity every time!
The best Indian in Oxford! Especially for vegan food, they have the biggest variety of vegan dishes and they’re all delicious 😍 All their sides and rice are vegan too, it’s great to have such a choice. The kofta in tamarind sauce is an absolute must!
Service and delivery time is always great too.
Absolutely the best Chole, I've had in a very long time. Really tasty, full of flavour. The mushroom rice was also gorgeous. Huge portions. I'll keep some for lunch tomorrow. This is the second time I've ordered (I had the street food before and that was equally as good) Thank you!
Ordered for the second time last night and we had a fantastic meal delivered. Really good curries, spinach bhaji was the best I've ever had, mushroom bhaji also superb. We shared a Desi Handi chicken and Chilli Achari lamb. A couple of puris and a naan topped off a delicious treat. Definitely recommend Bombay Express.
