Holdgates Fish Bar

Still the best fish and chip shop in Perth, left Scotland 11 years ago so when I came up visiting it was great to still see them trading. Had to buy the deep fried battered burger supper and take it to the inch to eat. I really hope they keep trading and will all make sure I pop in again the next time I am in Perth again.

I enjoy the Macaroni ☺But the fish is lovely nice and crispy and the chips are full of potatoes and not full of Grease. I think it is the best chippie in Perth so far. You can phone the Hodgates Fish and Chips Bar and put your order in so it is ready for you as soon as you walk in. This saves you waiting for it to cook as you wait on your order in the queue. You know it's fresh food your getting because They cook the food when you order. There are chips ready only. You can use cash or credit card payments. There is a sitting area you can also sit in the Restaurant which is a located at the back of the Hodgates Fish . Staff nice and friendly ☺ Service with a Smile 😆

Very nice sit in "Fish Tea"...which may sound 'soupy' to some...unless you are familiar with this Scottish term. Friendly staff and faiir pricing too. I have had a few take away fish suppers from here however and although good...they have a long way to go to beat another chippy in this Fair City of Perth...namely "The Fish And Chip Company" up near the station which quite frankly serves the best Fish Supper I have ever tasted in any place in the UK...including all those famous venues like Ainster etc. Holgates however is a place I'd recommend if you are in the market for a good "Fish Tea"
