Popped in for lunch with our young boys and Jasper the dog. Jasper treated to a fresh bowl of water and a Sophie’s biscuit - and we feasted on some great food (and a beer or two). Very attentive and friendly staff.

Popped in here this morning for a breakfast. We saw the blackboard outside saying the place was dog friendly so that worked well seeing as we had 3 dogs with us. We ordered our food and the lady came over with some water for the dogs and some dog biscuits. She was very friendly and clearly genuinely welcomed both people and their canine companions.
I had a vegetarian breakfast and pot of tea. We also ordered traditional breakfasts and smashed avocado. I am extremely fussy with my food but I ate everything on my plate. It left me nice and full and was a very large portion size.
I noticed there was a shelf of colouring and games for people to use and children had taken some of the games to play as they entered the venue.
It was more like a cosy restaurant to me, rather than a pub. It had a bar but the seating was plush and comfy and there were scatter cushions around.
I would definitely return to this venue.

Popped in today for a drink as the sun was shining and we’d been told by friends the pub had a nice beer garden. Rob & Lauren served us at the bar, excellent customer service. They recommended a lovely aloe & cucumber gin for my partner, while I tried two of their strawberry daiquiri cocktails. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back!!
Very friendly staff, nice place for lunch with family and friends. Great service. Children's menu very good. Dogs are welcome. Quite when we visited but still a nice atmosphere. Commonwealth games on the tele, board games and books also available.
Food was on point, flavoursome, big portions.
In particular rob, lauren and Lily were so friendly, understanding and accommodating, amazing music and atmosphere, brilliant towards animals and children, 100% recommend and will definitely come back again.

Our first visit to the George but we will definitely be back. A lovely atmosphere created by helpful staff (special mention for Lauren). Great food and loved watching the sport in the beer garden.
Came from out of town and stumbled across this beautiful little pub on the high street. Location and general ambience were incredible and I was immediately greeted by the beautiful bar staff and the GM(?) Lauren, who was extremely helpful and recommended some cocktails that all looked amazing. I ended up going for two quay west coolers on the two for one deal (incred deal btw). I ended up having lunch there as well and ordered a cheese and bacon burger and a drink for meal deal. The value for money and quality of food was a definite 10/10 and was, again, served by some lovely members of staff. The pub itself was super clean and had a homely feel to it. Restrooms and other on site facilities were also super clean and comfortable to use. All in all I had a great experience there and would 100% make this my local if I lived here. Everyone RUN don’t walk, I can’t even gatekeep this one!!!
The new staff were amazing, came in for a lovely Sunday roast and some cocktails, good atmosphere and live sports too, you can really tell the place has been changed around since the old team left. Definitely on the up
Had a lovely time at The George last week. The food was amazing - fantastic value and came out piping hot 👌🏼 we were welcomed by the staff as soon as we entered, who were friendly and attentive throughout our visit - couldn’t fault them at all. The new management have done an awesome job of turning things around at The George and I look forward to my next visit very soon.
Went to the george for an anniversary date with my boyfriend.wen we went in we were immediately seen to by the staff with amazing customer service. Loved the atmosphere and the food was absolutely delicious! Hope to go again some time soon.

The girls run around looking after us and we had a lovely well cooked breakfast , they even did me fried bread on request !
Nice pub on the square at Petersfield so will be back again soon.
