This was an amazing little find whilst on holiday in Yorkshire. The afternoon tea was such good value for money with teapots being refilled at no extra charge. We enjoyed it as much, if not more than our trip to Betty's Tearooms in York. The staff were exceptionally helpful in this cosy little cafe. Will definitely return

After a long tiring journey we stopped for refreshments, we were warmly greeted by the charming Stacey, we chose tea and toasted tea cakes, everything thing was perfect, we couldn’t recommend this cosy little cafe enough.

I've never been to Pickering, let alone this place. So why it comes up as 'review incomplete' is anyone's guess

Lovely little tea room with tea being served in china cups. Had a cheese toastie which was delicious, followed by a pot of earl grey tea and a lovely big slice of cake which was baked to perfection. Most of the tables inside were reserved so advisable to book in advance if you can. Seating outside in summer.

If you feel hungry, try the cream tea... not cheap but beautifully presented and tasty. And so much of it. The crockery is old fashioned tea sets and real tea not tea bags. It would cost a lot more in York!

Not usually a fan of afternoon tea but was a relief to see they do other things that sweets so the pork pie medley was spot on. Really enjoyed it and will definitely be going again.

Had afternoon tea here today and could not fault it. We looked at the menu and as neither myself or husband liked some of the fillings we asked the girl serving us if we could have some different fillings and she was more than happy to oblige. First we got a plate with several sandwiches on and as an extra my husband ordered a pork pie too. After we had eaten the sandwiches a plate of cakes came out and the scones were still warm, all was delicious. I could not finish it all but the girl serving kindly wrapped up what was left for us to take away with us. The girl who served us was very friendly and chatty and we felt very much at home here. Beautiful food at a reasonable price what’s not to like? Would certainly come back again.

Not visited for 5 years, why not we asked ourselves. Nothing has changed. Brilliant afternoon tea served by lovely staff. Couldn't fault a thing and the prices are good too.

Had the afternoon tea at the old post office earlier today & have to agree with the 5 star rating. The sandwiches were lovely (but let's be honest it's not really about the sandwiches is it!), it was a really good cuppa & then the cakes - 2 scones with jam & cream, an individual Victoria sponge, a strawberry tart, a piece of Yorkshire tea loaf with Wensleydale cheese (this a bit different from the usual afternoon tea) and a piece of millionaires shortbread. All were dainty so we were able to eat everything, but didn't leave feeling over faced. All the cakes other than the millionaires shortbread are home baked in house. Lovely vintage tea set & all matching and we were told the name & age of it which was a nice touch. Service was excellent. Lastly dog friendly which was something I never thought I'd be grateful for but as a new dog owner I am! Really nice afternoon tea, thank you & I would definitely recommend.

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea today as a party of 6 ranging from 6 years old to 80! Two had the full afternoon tea, which at just over £10 is a bargain. It was 6 sandwiches - 2 of each flavour, 2 mini scones with jam and clotted cream, 4 mini cake portions, all of which were homemade and delicious, and served with unlimited tea in matching vintage crockery. Others in the party had other scones - the special was lemon & ginger with lemon cues and cream, huge slices of chocolate cake and Victoria sponge. And my daughter, the youngest, had the ‘large toasted Teacake’ which was bigger than her face!!! Very friendly service and glad we booked earlier that day to ensure we could fit in. We will definitely be back!

Wow, what a fab afternoon tea! Scrumptious sandwiches, scones and cakes. All freshly made. Lovely tea or coffee too. Plentiful portions and you can takeaway anything you can’t finish. Friendly service and great value. Only thing to watch is the parking as it’s on the main road. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea at this delightful cosy tearoom cum Post Office. We called in to book as I’m vegetarian and don’t eat eggs fish or meat, they were only too pleased to make cucumber and cheese sandwiches. The cakes were wonderful and made on the premises, service was excellent. The price was more than reasonable for a delicious and very generous tea.

The tea parlour was recommended to us as a must place to go for afternoon tea. We were not disappointed. I had the afternoon tea which was fantastic, plenty to eat and I brought home what I couldn't manage. My husband had the Yorkshire Ploughman Platter which went down very well. The pork Pie was delicious. The staff were friendly and polite. This is a place to visit if your in the area. Maybe book a table in advance so as not to be disappointed.

We turned up on a Saturday afternoon - they had a hen do but still found us a table. Wonderful service in lovely china tea set. We had tea and home-made cake which was great. Will definitely go again

Just taken my mum for an early Mother’s Day afternoon tea, it was fantastic. From the pretty china, delicious sandwiches and cakes to the friendly service I just can’t fault it. Simply put this was just about the best afternoon tea (if not the very best) I’ve had (and I’ve had quite a lot). Certainly the tea was the best cup of tea I’ve had (so good I had 7 and my mum, (a coffee drinker) had 6!). We started off with nonalcoholic pink fizz, followed by ham, cucumber and egg mayo sandwiches. This was rounded off by 3 tiers of scones (hot from the oven), cakes and fruit tarts. We’ve brought a lot home as we were outfaced. Thank you to the lovely lady serving and her mother-in-law baking in the back, we will certainly be back!

Although we only live a short distance from the tea rooms, we have never visited. However, after our visit on Saturday, that will be changing. When you step inside you are transported back to the 1940s. We were met with a friendly welcome and felt comfortable straight away. Apart from the homemade soup and toasted sandwiches there was no hot food. Ploughmans, sandwiches and cake. I had sandwiches and cake and my wife the soup and sandwich. All was excellent and presented the old fashioned way. A pot of tea (leaves not bags) was presented in a China tea pot and China cops and sauces. I had not used a tea strainer in years. The quality of everything we had was excellent. Be warned though. It is only a small room so I think you can book ahead if you want to reserve a table. We have already booked the mothers day afternoon tea special. Looking forward to that.
