Recently visited Rockfish for the first time and was very impressed. Visited particularly as I really enjoy Hake as opposed to Cod or Haddock. The Hake was cooked beautifully and the endless chips were great too. We also had a 12oz Haddock which was great too Staff were really friendly and attentive and the cost was quite reasonable too

Amazing food, everything was so fresh, brilliant atmosphere with lovely views and the service was amazing. Specifically enjoyed the monkish tail and the jalapeño tartare which I discovered that they make in house… delicious! Also the best curry sauce for chips I’ve ever tried. Will definitely be back.

Tasty fish! You can never go wrong with fresh ingredients, and I love their calamari, so fresh and tender. The service, however, is too slow. I was so hungry. At least, they could give me some chips before the main dishes were ready.

Rockfish is a good place if you want to try speciality fish such as Gurnard, Mullet, Ray etc (prices for these can vary). The food came well presented and the fish was quite delicious and the chips where plenty full with unlimited amount offered. Great is that kids under 5 can eat for free, which I thought was very generous. Would definitely try another dish again. Dish seen is the: Grilled Silver Mullet in a Garlic Butter sauce.

The overall experience was good the only issue was that on two occasions plates were cleared from the table while a member of our party was still eating. The fish was very good we weren't as keen on the chips we expected traditional "chippy" chips these are more like fries and a little hard. I'm not sure if we would return but prefer to visit a traditional chip shop.

I visited here this afternoon (group of 4 adults) and it was great. We had fish and chips of varying descriptions plus drinks. We were so happy and satisfied by the end. The food was delicious and easily lived up to our expectations. A special thank you to our server - Grace - who was knowledgeable and attentive. She really made the experience special

Owned by our friend Mitch Tonks. This is one of a chain of local restaurants he has opened. Mitch is big on flavour, sustainability, super fresh fish & great quality produce. This restaurant is on The Barbican, next to the aquarium. There is plenty of indoor & outdoor seating. The serving staff advise you of the fish of the day, freshly caught by local fishermen & their prices. They also swiftly tell you what items have sold out before you consider what to order. Traditional fish & chips are obviously always on the menu & certain dishes include un-limited chips. There are healthy options of steamed fish. Also a chicken dish or vegetarian dishes depending on your tastes, preferences or allergies. Mitch's home-made Anchouade (anchovy mayo) with crusty baguette slices is simply the best appetiser.

Came here without a booking, apparently they were understaffed that evening so they let us know that the food would be 20 mins delayed, which was fine. In fact I don't think it was that delayed, we've definitely waited longer for food at other places so we were happy with that. We ordered oysters and scallops for starters and then for mains we ordered mussels in white sauce and grilled mackerel (both catches of the day) unfortunately by the time our order was put into the system there was no more mussels left so we had the grilled monkfish instead (also a catch of the day). Both main dishes came with our choice of side unlimited chips, green salad or new potatoes. The chips were probably the most disappointing part of the meal, they seemed to be all the leftover bits and didn't taste that nice. The restaurant itself is very spacious and they are dog friendly. The service was friendly and attentive despite the staff shortage. Overall an enjoyable meal.

We ate here on a Saturday in August before a trip to the Aquarium next door. I honestly had very low expectations - I thought it was going to be some not very good, touristy soggy fish and chips. In fact, it was absolutely brilliant - an interesting and unusual menu and some of the nicest fish I’ve had for years. The children and one of the adults had the fish and chips (which my sister in law said were the best she’d ever eaten), which were great, generously portioned and lovely crispy batter and very good fish. The chips were also fantastic. My husband and I shared the fish tacos, prawns and tinned fish, which were all excellent. The anchovy butter with the bread and the anchovy mayonnaise we had with the chips were exceptional. The restaurant was busy with a nice buzz but the service still felt relaxed but efficient. Grace, our waitress, was great. The bill for three adults and two children (with two beers, several soft drinks and coffees) was a very reasonable £100ish (before service) which I thought was excellent for such a good meal. Thank you to everyone there, our expectations were blown out of the water.
