Me and my gf were on a night out and didn't want to go switch. We were extremely hungry and expected either nothing to be open or to be extremely expensive. We found Jakes and they were really lovely and engaging + the amount of food we ordered ended up being so cheap for what we ordered. Can't even explain in words how drunk but excited to find this place.

Outstanding customer service. Never had anything like it in my life. I’ve stayed, and eaten, all over Europe at some really classy places where wait staff would preempt my every need- but nothing comes close to the top notch customer service I received from the 3 lads standing behind the counter tonight(but particularly the one on frying duties). Cheesy chips were just as good as they were 15+ years ago when I used to go here for lunch.

Jake's is the dream greasy spoon. No finesse, airs or graces, just hot, supremely tasty, artery-hardening food, the stuff of cold-weather cravings. The melts and cheesy fries are particularly good. Because the food is prepared to order, it can take awhile, so we find it best to telephone ahead. Here's pictures of the wall menu.
