Woolwell Fish Bar

I had small cod and chips and my other half had battered sausage, chips and curry sauce.. It's our first time coming here and we was impressed with the food, I would even rank it the best tasty chippy I have had this year (my new go to favourite). The portion size was a good size we was full yet didn't eat it all, the fish n sausages was not full of fat or grease it was lovely. The lady that served was professional and friendly on serving although we felt a bit rushed to make a choice from menu as she stood at the till watching us waiting to make a choice but that's not a drama. There was 2 couples waiting on their orders so there was a bit of a wait for our food but not too long.

Delicious fish and chips, well cooked. The queue was long when I came with over a 30 minute wait, but I guess that's the sign of a successful business. There were three lafies st the counter and lits of orople workibg hard inside. The cod bites were disappointing- they were tiny and poor value compared to other places I have ordered similar. Overall though a great place to go.

Much improved from previous owners I had some poor experiences at this place under previous management but I decided to try again as ownership has changed. The place has been renovated to a good standard, they now accept card payments, service was fast and friendly, and all of the food we ordered was very good. I will definitely eat from here again!

We must of missed the announcement ' Under new Management'. Superb quality fish and chips, the batter was the best ever, light crispy, not swimming in oil. Chips were perfect. Fabulous, is what I would call the staff, friendly so polite (we messed up our collection time, as train was delayed), nothing was too much trouble.
