Lovely old pub. Excellent beer. Lovely food though we did have to wait quite a while for our sandwich, which seemed strange as there not many people in the pub. Worth the wait though.

Take yourself a short couple of minutes walk off the main Poole marina front pubs and pop in here. Met some great people visiting from Manchester and the guy who runs the place came over and chatted with us all, made us feel at home, as did the people behind the bar. We all had a great night. Thanks to all.

Sumptuous split level stone building, a wide range of drinks available, the multi room layout offers a great choice of areas to enjoy.

We didn't eat so can't comment on the food, but the atmosphere and interior were incredible. So ancient! Great service and friendly welcome. Kids welcome too. Pool table upstairs in the medieval hall (which is where i'd recommend to sit!)

Had an amazing meal here tonight. My daughter and I had moules frites, and my husband had steak and chips. It didn't disappoint.
It was all freshly cooked and absolutely delicious.
I think the food was cooked by a proper chef who definitely knows what they're doing.
Front of house staff were lovely and welcoming.
We will definitely be back

Absolute gem of a place , it’s hidden away from the Quay and High street but boy this must be the best food I have had in Poole in a long time . We had the roast Turkey and lamb dinners . It was piping hot with lots of gravy . Will definitely be back! The pub itself has a few little rooms which add to the atmosphere and give you the feel of a private dining area . Lots of history on and in the walls . Can’t wait now to try the specials menu and come for the live music evenings when I am in town .

A very good pub with an amazing lengthy history. I enjoyed good quality real ale whilst watching and listening live entertainment

Lovely atmospheric pub with several rooms downstairs and a big space upstairs where the ghosts are reputed to be.
Very well kept Timothy Taylor beers and a nice Thatchers cider.
A good selection of specials and seafood as well as pies and standard pub fare. We had moules and frites in a really tasty sauce. Desserts of bidcoff cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding were excellent although with "squirty" cream not pouring.
Dog friendly throughout too.

Quality olde worlde pub just away from the quay. On entering there are two rooms either side of the corridor oozing history and atmosphere. Further in, there is the bar area which is a little more modern and one little side room even has a TV. Upstairs is a medieval hall area which is used for live events. Food is extremely good and has some good gluten free options, I recommend the sirloin steak, wonderful. Overall, a great boozer. Enjoy. M
