It was most unexpected to hear that The Himachol is no more when trying to make a booking this week. My wife and I have been customers for around 25 years making Raj, Manik, the staff who have come and gone and this restaurant a significant part of our lives.
We've enjoyed countless meals, takeaways, birthdays and New Years Eves here. Our children have been born, grown, gone through school, college and university since we've been coming here. We've left and started jobs. We've lost family members.
We'll hold onto our memories of our favourite food and dishes, some of which you don't find in every Indian restaurant, such as Murgh Pepper, Bengali Kebab, Murgh Bahar, Surma Biryani, Murgh Moshla and Lamb Dhansak. Usually with extra green chilies of course. And we mustn't forget the off menu Tamarind Sauce. It's also the only place I've ever eaten a Phall (though 2 or 3 times was enough for me!).
Raj and Manik, you have gone above and beyond with your hospitality, warmth, service and effort running this place and you both thoroughly deserve to take a well earned step back and enjoy spending more time with your family and friends.
Thanks for everything, guys!
Lots of love from Mark, Penny, Dan and Kate.

Arrived and really enjoyed the service.Friendly atmosphere.
Had a meal for two and the food was delicious.
It was my husband's birthday and they made it special.
The food was really tasty was hot temperature just as I like it. The portions were really good. The manager explained where it comes from. Which part of India.
Will definitely recomend this place and coming back again when we visit Bournemouth.

Wow, Wow, Wow, and Wow
The food in this restaurant is seriously great. Each and every mouthful was a taste to be cherished. When you have a curry, your tastebuds usually don a fire suit worn only by those in steelworks near the molten metal. At Himachol's, I felt my tastebuds tear off any pretense of protection, to bask in the experience that is the food there.
I have been to many curry houses, but this one EASILY ranks in the top 3; if not the best.
If you want a superb curry, then this is the place. Reasonably priced too, with a huge selection of specials, and normal, dishes that would prevent repeat ordering for most of the year if you visited once a week.
I will be going back again to try other dishes. Sorry other curry places but the bar has been raised.

I've been to this Indian restaurant since the 90's as I used to live just around the corner. I've been living in Australia for the last 18 years and have been back in the UK recently and my family had to go to Poole and decided to eat at the Himachol and I was pleased that the standards have not changed. The staff were their usual friendly selves and the food was very tasty and of a good quality. One of the very few places that I have eaten great Indian food.

Good quality food. Reasonable prices. Enjoy it. We have used them for years and have tried others, meanwhile, and still yet to find any place to match tastes and flavours. Rgds Don

My partner recommended a takeaway from Himachol as she used to live across the road and used it, so this was my first experience, people, this restaurant obviously has great chefs, the food was absolutely fantastic, we ordered at 6pm and were told it would be an hour, it turned up in 45mins, with a friendly delivery man, it was piping hot and so tasty, the rice was fluffy, the onion bhajis were fantastic, the poppadoms light and crisp, and the two meals out of this world, we didn't leave anything except a poppadom which I couldn't eat, highly recommended, it was so nice I had to ring the restaurant and thank them, Mike Freeman 9th December 2017

Very tasty indian food perfectly spiced and a very good selection of dishes. Decor is a little dated but don't let that put you off, it's all about the food.
