Superb night there on a Friday night, great selection of ales including local ones. Atmosphere was great, staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was closed when I got there so cannot comment on the food, bit breakfast was perfect. Room was very clean and comfortable, and no noise from the bar area despite being very busy. Throughly recommended and will be staying here again in the near future if I'm working around here again.

Stopped here unexpectedly in the hope of getting a Sunday roast. Initially told they were unable to offer a roast as we hadn't booked. After checking with the kitchen we were able to enjoy a roast. Great service and good food. Very good size portions and the smaller plate was more than enough for me. Would recommend if in the area.

We came to the restaurant for my husband's birthday. We were greeted at the bar very quickly and was told to sit wherever we liked, as it was very quiet at the time. We were served our drinks extremely quickly, and then once we had browsed the menu, our order was taken very efficiently at the bar. Our starters arrived, piping hot, we both had the pea and mint soup, which was absolutely delicious. Once finished, our plates were cleared by our server Chloe, who seemed very timid, but did her job impeccably fast and efficiently, which was very pleasing. Chloe was extremely polite, and very professional, and up for a general chat, which is what we liked. Our main courses again were served very fast. Again, the food was lovely, and portion size was great for the price paid. Unfortunately, we couldn't finish our meals totally, so asked to take our leftovers home. This was no trouble, the only disappointing thing was, that the kitchen did not have any boxes to pack the leftovers up in, so we were given cling film instead. This wasn't a major issue, as we only had a small amount of leftovers to pack, it would have been a little concerning, had we had more to pack, so I would suggest that proper containers for leftovers are kept in constant supply for the future. After packing our leftovers, we ordered desserts, these again were scrumptious. As it was my husband's birthday, we were very surprised, when Chloe came to our table with a birthday card for him, we thoroughly appreciated the effort made with this, but sadly we accidentally left the card behind on our table, but only realised once we arrived home, and unfortunately don't live very local, so couldn't go back to collect it, but we truly appreciate the thought by the restaurant, and will 100% be returning very soon. Thank you to all the staff, especially all the kitchen staff for producing great food and to our server Chloe for her terrific service. Look forward to seeing you all again very soon 🙂
