Perfect location in Porthleven, beautiful views.
Really friendly staff, all of them, the barman, waitress and chef who were on service tonight. Took my Dad for a Fathers Day treat, we both had the Mussels and they were so nice, some of the best I've had and he agreed cheers again guys!
Family of 4 with 2 teens, dined 8pm, pub was buzzing and service was jolly and efficient, happy to provide ale tasters to us non-locals. We shared excellent salt’n’pepper squid starters followed by burger mains, fish’n’chips with a perfectly served affogato dessert with chocolate brownies with all the trimmings for the boys...our only regret is that we don’t live closer! Sat on the stepped terraces watching the locals plunge into the harbour as the Lifeboat came and went, sipping ale to sundown. What a super way to spend an evening. Thank you
This was a fantastic pub to visit, having an intriguing layout with all different designs covering the interior! Menus are readily available, the counter is well-presented and staff were very nice. I had quality Fish and Chips with peas alongside tartar sauce, sitting at a harbourside table! Rhubarb cider on tap was a worthy option and I also refreshed with some Diet Coke.
Always have a great time at The Ship. Great selection of drinks and the food is incredible! The inside of the pub is unique, cosy and has a great atmosphere. Plenty of outdoor seating with a sunning view of the harbour, which is amazing in the warmer months. Staff are polite, friendly and helpful. 100% would recommend.
It is a great place with views over the harbour, super food, and despite being ultra busy, the most welcoming and friendly staff. The Inn is full of character, so don't expect straight flat steps and large roomy corridors or toilets. Don't visit Porthleven without calling in. You won't be disappointed.
Great pub with amazing atmosphere and views of the harbour. Fantastic staff and always welcoming to locals
Came here after a long day of hiking and what a gem we discovered.
Ordered fish and chips and it was fresh and plentiful. Tried burger my wife ordered and it was out-of-this-world. Service is very friendly, as waiter cracks jokes and being very friendly.
One of the best pubs in Cornwall
Great pub, great location. Gets very busy and very noisy. The terraced gardens are great for the views while having a drink when the weather is good with great views of the harbour. On an evening we had food on quiz night. There was about an hour wait from ordering and a limited vegetarian option. We knew all of this so that was fine but it’s something to bear in mind. I had the lemon sole and it was exceptional, great food. So taking the fact this pub is busy they still mange to make decent food. My only issue was In that I ordered a side salad which cost £5.00. When it cost this much I assumed it was going to be a good portion - no, it was leaves on a small side plate. Like I said, my only criticism.
Definitely a place to visit if you come to Portleven.
The absolute BEST burger I have ever had. I ate it so quick I forgot to take a picture.
My new favourite pub! It's an old style pub with a youthful vibe. The pub has great views over the harbour and has a number of other indoor and outdoor seating options. The staff at super friendly, even in these times of staff shortages, there is a good menu, with local produce, and a good selection of beers on tap. We had a light lunch, which was really reasonably priced and was great quality. I could see us having a cosy winter evening here, or a glorious pint on a sunny day, well worth the trip down the harbour!
Phenomenal burgers, probably the best I’ve had in a traditional pub since I can remember. Perfectly juicy and not too thick. Lovely staff too who ensured our 2 year old daughter was looked after. Chips also perfectly cooked.
Well worth the visit, we came for Monday lunch at Midday and it was incredible.
Thank you all, great work!
Love this pub and atmosphere staff are really friendly and it's a beautiful location, food is great beer is quality
