We found it really nice perfect for bigger together as you pay as you order so none of that awkward splitting the bill carnage, food was surprisingly nice for a prepaid pub however with the belly pork and liver and bacon going down a treat
Only down side is they don't trust you with condiments insisting on giving you those thimble sized cups of mayo that go in one dip!!!!

Despite the gray exterior the food was outstanding and it came out of the kitchen quickly. I really appreciated the chili sauce that came with the burger. Friendly staff. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal.

Although we don’t live in Portsmouth we’ve eaten twice here and both times it’s been great, friendly staff and the food is great. The Sunday carvery certainly did the trick today, most enjoyable.

Took a large group pre-booked from our twin city in Germany for a Carvery experience. This was after the usual Carvery serving time and a group of around 30. The food was excellent and the service, the staff very helpful. Would thoroughly recommend.

Superb food home cooked, recommended, can get busy but good atmosphere. Ale on offer was a bit flat, Atlantic and pricey for drinks. But food was excellent!

Food was good, great pie (Chicken, Ham & Leek) sadly let down slightly by the red canlbbage which was far too sweet, and the lumpy mash. Service decent, not very busy.
We were actually enjoying the peace and quiet until a very loud woman arrived with her family, left very shortly after that. Some people need to learn how to use their indoor voice.

Having met waitress Sarah she was very helpful, friendly and attentive. She made the difference to our enjoyment of a normal pub lunch into a pleasant experience. Excellent food , sausage and mash, egg, ham and chips. A great lunch!

Great place with a great atmosphere, Food is tasty and cheap enough to be able to leave the place full under 20 pounds.
The staff is friendly and energetic.

2020 5* -Brilliant find. Great food, good value, excellent service and a roast on a Saturday and a properly made Irish coffee what more could you ask for.
