Good food and a fun sports bar atmosphere. The highlight was our waitress. They have a gem with her and I hope they pay her well.

Amazing lobster roll and the fries were so delicious! Their signature pale ale was a deal and really good. Friendly staff, great location. Definitely a must-visit!

Wow. I walked in here and immediately became overwhelmed with the feeling of nostalgia. Portsmouth high school memorabilia, and a cozy atmosphere. The food was fantastic and the service was perfect. Such a friendly bartender.

Found this place which is away from the tourist trap restaurants on market street. Had to that local pub feel. We were not disappointed, the food was excellent and the prices reasonable. Would definitely recommend this place over the more crowded restaurants in the tourist area of Portsmouth.

Great little pub, restaurant is a typical tavern style with a great atmosphere. Food was excellent, all homemade and much better than what you would find a block up in the busy Market Square area of Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Great value!! Strongly recommend their sliders and Meatballs as an app. We split a Clipper burger after a good size portion of apps and it too was fantastic. Take the short 1 block walk down from Market Sq to eat here!!

The chef came out and entertain our gran-kids, he let us know when our food would be ready, the waitress was always checking on us.

Loved the local community feel! We were traveling and arrived very late and most everything else was closed but thank goodness because we found Clipper Tavern! The bartender, Jill was so friendly and the hot was so good! We ordered pretzel bites, fried pickles, chicken tenders, and the poutine. Thank you Clipper Tavern!

A good find in Downtown Portsmouth NH. Clippers Tavern. Seems like a local place, people seemed to know people by name. Service was great even though they were understaffed. food was great. Mix and match sliders. Burger and Nashville Hot Chicken hot cut seasoned fries. !! Boom. Also fried chicken sandwiches x 2. homemade not frozen! I would recommend Clippers.
