My son wanted ice-cream and I didn't remember this shoppe until I walked by it heading towards the church with a band playing in front of it. The set up for social avoidance, err, distancing was a little confusing to myself and others. A little hard to see inside in order to count the customers, maximum of six are allowed at a time. Menu placed out front helps. An associate came and told us we could come in, but, the people in front walked in on thier own. Inside was okay. This place is a diet breaker for sure! We had small cups while my friend, she had a sundae that cost over $8, while my two small ice-creams and one cone came to over $10. Everything tasted good and the cone was the biggest I have ever seen. High prices in downtown Portsmouth, nah. I had the Kilwins Tracks, vanilla with peanut 🥜 butter and chocolate 🍫. Tasted good. My son devoured his chocolate and my friend liked her sundae. My son and I split the cone. Lots of pastries and candies. I didn't really look because I didn't want to be tempted. I think coffee ☕ is available, but, don't quote me on it. Friendly service. Facemasks required and floor is marked for walking and exiting directions. Tables set up outside for eating. Iphone/Android pay accepted. Outside of sticker shock, I recommend a visit for good ice-cream. Update: Sunday evening, November 2020; Kilwins Mud, Vanilla with Oreo and caramel swirl was good. Huge chocolate 🍫 Santa Claus being raffled off.

Wonderful smells, hard working staff, family owned and operated, and perfect comfort food for the times in which we are living. The truffles are AMAZING, and my weakness! Thank you, Kilwins! And thank you for keeping us safe by requiring masks and minimizing the number of people in the shop so we can safely distance. Well done!

3 big fans of Kilwins here! I was in Portsmouth for a long weekend and visited twice with my kids. We loved the ice cream and the cones are superb, they are the crispy waffle style. Friendly staff and owner. Actually we made a third stop there when we picked up some fudge for the car ride home to NJ. I warmly recommend the sea salted caramel.

Honestly was in the shoppe for thirty seconds and won’t go back. It was our first time, and we walked in the door and waited in line quietly, and was immediately met with disrespect. The sign he claimed we “CLEARLY didn’t see” wasn’t visible when we walked in, as another customer held the door for us. Honest mistake. It happens. I understand the stress of the current pandemic. I know they are often treated disrespectfully by customers asked to leave because of the limit, we weren’t those type of people. I fully welcome the stern approach if you have to say it multiple times, but I was seriously put off by not feeling comfortable coming back inside the store after his cold welcome. Pun intended. **edit**: this review was a direct reflection of my experience here, not an effort to damage or attack a business. I really appreciate you taking the time to read and address this, and thank you for making an effort to help both your customers and reduce the stress on your employees!
