The Gaiety Southsea

Great place to visit in winter & summer.. great events for young kids.. they are safe to run around, dance & have fun on the dance floor. It is located on the pier with a small funfair at the end.. adjacent to a great arcade with lots of 2p machines for the little ones.. lots to do & see.. great for wedding parties and large groups.. inside & outside seating.. great food at a reasonable price.. ample street parking, as well as many very large carparks up & down the seafront. The only reason I give it 4 stars is that it can be rather cold inside if you just want to sit & have a drink & a bite to eat.

We visited to see a tribute band play. The stage is a good size to allow bands to perform. Good size tables, so groups of people can all sit together. Also, because of the way the place is laid out, everyone gets a good view of the stage. We found all the staff really friendly and helpful & they genuinely seemed happy to be there, which makes the place feel even more welcoming. All areas are clean & fresh. The only downside we felt was that there could have been table service, as there seemed to be enough bar staff for this to work. This may happen during different types of event. Bar prices are fair, especially for the area.
