The P and G is just 15 minutes walk from the house and we love it!! Food is fantastic value for money. I had the potatoe skins as a snack yesterday with gammon and cheese melted on top. Added jalapenos and blue cheese sauce and crispy bacon bits.OH!! Did I mention the breakfasts??? All you can eat for less than 6 quid!!!! Second to none! I recommend it to everyone. Gr8 place!!
Came as a group of 8 for a Christmas getogether, the food was great, the sausages were the best I've had! We had the meal deal, the profiteroles were amazing! Only criticism was the after eight dough balls weren't very nice but will definitely come again.
We have just hosted our sons fourth birthday - Pizza party - at Pig & Whistle; cannot fault it. The concept is brilliant for kids, original and so much fun. They allowed me to come in ahead of time to set up and decorate. Staff were very helpful. Party packs were crammed with fun bits and pieces and they allowed me to add to them. Everyone had a great time. Highly recommended.
Lovely venue, 1st visit with a large group of friends here. We had pre-booked our table due to the nos, but walk-ins are fine 🙂, large bar, served promptly, I'd also downloaded the 'Stonehouse' app on mobile, registered & I had some offers to use on my 1st visit, make sure u remember to scan the app each visit too, as you get more offers weekly. I had the Phily Burger & it was really good with chips, & Popcorn Sundae for dessert. Our party then sat outside in the sun in the seated areas, plenty of space. I will definitely be returning, staff are friendly, respectful & accommodating.
Staff lovely, food was so nice, went to visit son in Preston, would def go again. Had carvery can highly recommend, even gravy was nice and thick, roast potatoes were actually done perfect!! Very impressed.
Had a great all you can eat hot breakfast for only £6. The staff were very nice and welcoming. Easy access for the wheelchair and a clean and large disabled toilet. Plenty of parking. I will go again
Food was good however when ordering via mobile I'm expected to just go and get the carvery and the rest comes to me (this was confirmed by a staff) yet we waited a little over an hour after eating and still no desert, we had to get up and ask for it to then be told why didn't we ask earlier - if I wanted to get up and ask I would not have ordered via mobile! - 5 stars still given however as the manager corrected with a good will gesture of drinks
Lovely place for a decent carvery, the staff were fun and friendly, food was great quality and if I could handle it I'd have got even more food.
Great family environment and was fun at the end of the night to play pool with friends as its such a spacious establishment.

Delicious as always. Nice place. Decent service at reasonable prices. Good for families. The carvery is always delicious. Had the pizza this time round for a change and it was cooked to perfection. Paid £45 for 3 of us, 1 carvery and 2 of us had 2 courses.
Food was good and the carvery had lots of variety and decent options. The problem was when two members of our party ordered from the main menu and their meals were delivered after the rest of us had been up and collected and finished our meals this meaning the family meal we planned to haven’t didn’t actually go to plan as they sat there hungry whilst we were eating. For the busyness of the restaurant on the day we went we waited a long time for our food.
I've been coming to the Pig and Whistle for 55 years. I've been coming with my new partner for 25 years. Always reliably tasty, good price, and excellent staff who go the extra mile. Maybe due for a deep clean?

We booked a pizza party and it was great for the kids. Group of 10 was just right and children age 5+ really enjoyed it. Strengths- quick service, good cost and friendly team. Weaknesses- no aprons or chef hats for the children and just felt a little rushed to hurry up the party, even though the children were still eating. Overall really good and will defo do it again. Thanks guys
