This is our third time staying here and our last stay was amazing. The warm welcome of the staff when we arrived, the room simple but so clean and a fridge with fresh milk not the UHT version. Location is lovely and quiet. Breakfast was so good the quality of the bacon, and the way it was cooked was fantastic. To be honest I could not fault anything and this is not something I can say lightly

Pleasant pub on popular walking route. Three beers available and the two sampled were excellent staff friendly. Food for lunch was very tasty but poor attention to detail missing horse radish on one dish and raw avocado was inedible on another. However apart from these issues the food was good. Deserves another visit.

I think this is the place where David Cameron came for fish and chips with the Chinese Prime Minister. I might be wrong. Anyway, it was a biker stop off - nice to sit outside and enjoy the country. Worth a visit, it's a bit tucked away. You can walk up the hill to get to the white cross. A good hike and you can see for miles!

Ordinary pleasant pub catering for locals and passing hikers, who are requested to remove any muddy boots before entering the bar. We didn't sample the food, but the locals were having pub grub as well as liquid lunches. Good selection of lagers and ales. Tables inside and out, with most outside being sheltered under canopies.

The Plough was temporarily the most famous pub in the world when British Prime Minister David Cameron and Chinese President Xi Jinping popped by for a pint in 2015.
In fact with Chequers only five minutes away nearly every Prime Minister is rumoured to have lunched here; and it even featured in its own episode of Midsomer Murders.
But back to today: The Plough is a classic country pub and the perfect place to stop for lunch, offering tasty pub classics such as sausage and mash alongside plenty of light bites to keep you going on an afternoon stroll through the Chilterns AONB.
If the sun’s out there’s a small beer garden hidden away behind the pub, plus rope swings next to more benches out front.
Google Maps doesn't allow an opening year before 1700, which is a shame because The Plough dates back to the 1500s as an old coaching house.
If you found my review or photos helpful please leave a quick thumbs up 👍 Thank you!

Lovely, quaint archetypal English pub in a quiet location, ideal for hiking and admiring the Chilterns. Provided a cosy and warm atmosphere and a great lunch with a good selection of wine and beers. Dog friendly and attentive and friendly staff…….I’d highly recommend.

We went for Sunday lunch to the Plough at Cadsden. Beautiful location but that was over shadowed by how great the food was and most importantly how friendly the young team are. I genuinely think this is the best Sunday pub lunch I have had in a long time and the whole experience including taking my disabled brother could not have been beaten from a service level. Only small shame is that the interior does not match the beautiful country pub setting.
