Momo House

For those looking to explore Nepalese food, this is a great restaurant to start. For me personally, the restaurant being Non-Halal was brilliant as it is hard to find such restaurants in Reading. Fantastic food, enticing aromas fill the restaurant. So much so, I forgot to take pictures and dove straight in! The location is not that great but it doesn't impact the atmosphere inside. The prices are high for its location, but the flavour of the food is worth it. I would say they are charging prices of Central Reading, and I would have had no issues with that if the setting was better.

I went here for dinner with my son and daughter-in-law on 1st November, during a brief stay with them. I'd never had Nepalese food before but couldn't fault Momo House in any way ... fab food (a cross between Indian and Chinese, as might be expected), friendly (but not intrusive) service and brilliant price (3 x 2 course meals and 3 drinks for £60). I just wish I lived closer!

A place I'd love to visit again someday! I've been here twice, while staying at a friend's place in Caversham. Everything was great, the food was carefully cooked and very flavourful, and the owner is very friendly and always up for suggestions and recommendations. It was the first time I ever tried the panipuri and I absolutely loved it! If you ever find yourself around Reading, I'd more than recommend to dine here!
