I have dined at Pappadams on many occasions, mostly enjoying the Pepper Chicken Chettinadu with Jeera Pulao. On each of my visits I was made to feel very welcome and the food was excellent. The curry had an excellent balanced flavour and the rice was seasoned very well with a coriander garnish and a little ghee making it slightly different from usual and giving it an interesting and enjoyable flavour. Pappadams has become my favourite Indian restaurant in Reading and I look forward to returning when I am next in the area. If you've read this far and you're thinking of visiting, I'd highly recommend it (and the Chettinadu/Jeera dish).

Decent Indian cuisine restaurant. Most of dishes are adjusted for accommodating a larger audience, so not exactly authentic. Also lack of staff makes a longer waiting time. But overall a good experience and some of the dishes are very tasty.

We were a group of 8 people & we liked most of the items we ordered. The must try item would be the Kerala chicken fry from the starter which was juicy inside & crispy outside. We tried fish molly which was well made. 1 item which disappointed me was the thalassery mutton biriyani which was not up to the mark.we tried thalassery chicken biriyani which was better than mutton biriyani but it was just okay. We liked the beef kappa biriyani which was very good.overall very satisfied with the experience as most of the items tasted authentic Kerala dish.

Thalassery chicken biryani was awesome with good quantity, served with raita, pappadam and pickle. Service is average.

Ordered a takeaway from the store. Fish molee was divine. Erachi puttu was on point. Kappa biryani was right on target hitting all the taste buds. Happy eating.

Went with family for a dinner. Indian food served with Kerala taste and spices. And they serve Halal meat. Nice ambience. Easy to identify from even heavy traffic.Nice and small restaurant with ample seating. Typical Kerala food !! Enjoyed every bit of Kappa(tapioca)biriyani and Kappa with fish curry was awesome. I tried Beef fry and beef ularthiyath. Both were excellent but I expected beef fry bit more dry than ularthiyath. Both went well with traditional appam. Kids also enjoyed appam and fish curry. Kappa biriyani (mutton) was pure tradition blend. Thalassery biriyani was not dum but rice was khaima small rice.Since we were in Thalassery before and tasted authentic one before , biriyani was not as expected, but was not bad. Kerala porotta was nice with beef.Masala tea was so good. Tried a mango lassi as well , and lassi was superb. What I felt fantastic was the serving speed . Never seen a hotel in Uk serving that quick. Very friendly and polite staff. Very pocket friendly restaurant. Will definitely visit again. Parking in the front of the shop is paid parking for 2 hours.
