Always a hard choice between the red thai curry and the halloumi burger as they are both amazing! Highly recommend trying both, you will not be disappointed :)
Check out my homies food stall in Reading.. yum yum! Definitely worth a visit!
Food is very good. We went for a Set Menu buffet. It was too much food for the 4 of us. Unfortunately, we had to leave it behind, which is a shame. Food is tasty and good quality. Not sure why there are no customers at all. Maybe due Bank Holiday weekend
Our meal was absolutely fantastic! The portions were generous and exquisitely spiced! The staff were friendly, accommodated my food allergies, and the price was wonderfully reasonable! Highly recommend!
Our student house of eight went for a meal after seeing the positive reviews - we thought we'd try a local, small business and it's within walking distance so more convenient than heading into Reading on the bus. We were glad we did! Rhman and the team were very friendly and accommodating and the food was absolutely flawless - all our curries were freshly made and bursting with flavour; we all thoroughly enjoyed it ! The Monday to Wednesday set meal option is outstanding value at less than £14 per head, and the Pappadums too were very tasty coming with a selection of home made dips (including a coconut dip exclusive to Gulab!)
Best Indian I've eaten in Reading! Very impressed with the quality, quantity and prices of the food we had.
The staff was very friendly and we were treated extremely well.
We ordered:
- Chicken Biryani (WHICH COMES WITH A NAAN)
- Chicken Korma
- Chicken Bhuna
- Saag Ahloo
- 2 Naans
Would highly recommend this place, and will be my go-to Indian for the foreseeable future
Highly recommend this amazing restaurant ! five stars from me and my family, the staff go above and beyond for the customer, to make them comfortable and happy. To be honest, the restaurant was so comfortable and welcoming, it was as comfortable as my own home! I will be returning, and recommending this restaurant to all my friends and family. Thank you all! Well done.
Really tasty food and great service. This place stands out from other Indian restaurants with its unique menu, creative dishes and great flavours. The Lamb Shank is beautifully cooked, the Biriyani is delicious and Mackney Murgh is nice too. There could’ve been a more rice with the lamb shank but I guess it depends on how you like your curry-rice ratio.
My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at Gulab Indian Kitchen.
Not only was the food splendid (I went for a chicken Passanda, a mild dish that was absolutely delicious), but also the service couldn't have been better. Our waiter, Rahman, provided the best service, and he even added to our experience a very nice starter (I forgot the name) and an extra naan with coconut, both things on the house. Of course, there were not too many tables that night, otherwise I doubt that would have been possible...
Highly recommended!
Best Indian take away I've had in a long time.
We will be ordering from here again and would highly recommend it!
Reading's top dining experience , dishes with a personal touch. Yesterday night, we were served by Mr. Rehman. We started off with crispy poppadoms and the pickle tray. As you can see from the pictures, pickle tray has sauces much different from the regular pickle trays around here. The person who served the pickle tray explained what the different type of sauces are. We ordered two starters - 'The taster plate' - has portions of onion bhaji (M), Sheekh kebab and Chicken Tikka. If you can't decide what starters you want this is the best option. We also ordered their speciality starter - 'Chicken Isabegol Tikka'. It had a very different and striking taste, felt more like a fusion of Indian and European cuisines. Another welcoming thing that the server let us keep the pickle tray until we are done with the starters. Mango mint yogurt sauce was very good with the mixed starters. For main course, we ordered 'Murgh garlic' and Chicken Naga Chili masala. To go with it, we ordered Egg fried rice and Peshawari Naan. Murgh garlic and Peshawari naan was a perfect pair. Murgh garlic had very soft chicken pieces with very flavourful gravy. Even though the restaurant was very busy, Mr. Rehman (our server) was very attentive. Also the lovely lady who served the food was very friendly and she even had a friendly chat with my 3 year old. She provided children's cutlery so that my daughter could eat food at her ease. My daughter was also given a small glass of mango lassi (on the house) with mild flavour. She enjoyed it very well. We could not finish all the food, the rest of the food was promptly packed for us to take home. We really had a good time, all together it was a culinary delight to have it. We will definitely go back.
Excellent, tasty and well spiced curries as ever and good value since you can bring your own alcoholic drinks. The service is a bit haphazard and the chicken and veggie Dhansaks were mixed up.
