I dined at this wonderful Afghan restaurant today, on the recommendation of an Afghan friend and I must say it was a delightful experience.
The Chapli Kebab was a highlight, with its perfectly spiced ground meat and herbs, cooked to perfection. The flavors were authentic and left me craving for more.
The Kabuli Pulao was a fragrant masterpiece. Tender pieces of meat, flavorful rice, and a medley of aromatic spices came together in a mouthwatering symphony.
The Afghan Biryani was another winner, with its unique blend of flavors and spices that set it apart from other biryanis I've tried.
What's even better is that all this deliciousness came within my budget. I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices for such high-quality food.
I’d like to thank Zinat, who looked after us. She was very welcoming and friendly. To top it up she helped us choosing the dishes.
The restaurant not only satisfied my taste buds but also provided a glimpse into Afghan culinary traditions. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to savor authentic Afghan cuisine.
I just went there with my family last weekend, amazing food, nice and peacefull environment, ideal for a dine out with the kids, the waitresses really nice and attentive.
Highly recommended restaurant, surely will be back soon
A great afghan restaurant with a wide range of curries/koftas- we had a platter and really enjoyed it- they gave us a mountain of pilau to share! Clean, modern interior and friendly waiters too.
Food was well packed, delicious and warm.
The Afghani naan was really good, even cold the next day was really nice and easy to eat.
We had dhal, lamb namak mandahi and Kabuki pilow rice. The salad was very well presented and refreshing. It was all really good.
Excellent food and good value for money. Everything was delicious we ordered the Chicken Karahi, Chana Daal and Mixed Grill - will visit again if ever in reading.
Ordered with my partner, chicken was delicious. And the remaining tastes just good not very good and not bad.
The service can be better. The food is a little bit expensive.
The food was too good to be 4 stars rating, even though it took 45 minutes to arrive! Ordered a family meal, with all sorts of grilled meat. Chicken & meat kebab & kufta, not too spicy but has that authentic Afghani taste to it. The place is spacious and accommodating of kids & family, staff are wonderful. Ended the meal with a green tea with mint that was offered with sugary almonds. Overall, highly recommended for those who wait 👍🏻
Fantastic Afghani cuisine! We had an exceptional dining experience here and, if we lived local, we wouldn't hesitate to return.
Everything we ordered; the mixed grill chicken, the Namak Chicken, the Nan and Rice were all beautifully flavoured and cooked to perfection. It's unusual to order a curry by 'weight'; the half-kilo Namak Chicken arrived in a huge Karai skillet. A quarter-kilo would be sufficient for two if, like us, you couldn't resist ordering the grilled options too!
The staff are super friendly and made our visit very enjoyable. There's a great atmosphere created by the owners, a husband (chef) and wife (front of house) team. If they ever open a branch in East Yorkshire then they've a guaranteed customer!
If you love freshly grilled chicken/lamb and authentic curries you'll love Da Village!
One of the best restaurants in Reading for wholesome Afghan cuisine. We've visited several times, service is always friendly and hospitable and the food doesn't disappoint. Rice dishes are beautifully cooked, flavours are delicate yet pungent and the chicken/meat options are truly delicious. We always order a mixed grill which is a fantastic starter, would highly recommend - don't be deceived by the appearance of its size, it's definitely enough for two people!
Authentic Afghan food, great value, attentive customer care. Overall very good.
