Historic coaching inn now as a pub split into 2 bars left/right as you enter. Visited for the ale trail and was not disappointed. Quality couple of pints of courage best, attentive bar staff, clean tables and some of the friendliest chatty locals I have encountered for a while. Good enough for me to want to head out to Theale again just to return. Recommended... This is one of the oh, so few, heritage pubs near reading.

Recently visited for my birthday celebration, a pod was booked by my daughter. Communications between my daughter and staff was very good. The pod was lovely - warm & comfortable with cushions/throws. We pre- ordered food as requested, all food was very good & staff very friendly & attentive. A very pleasant evening.
Friendly little pub. Seen alot of landlords come and go over the years sadly. Prices regularly going up over the years. Pool table free to use and toilets if passing. Good parking facilities and quiet big beer garden
Had a fantastic evening, here in one of the garden pods. Great food, great staff, great atmosphere. Very friendly & attentive staff looked after everything. Will definitely be going back.
Warm service from bar staff, good laugh, fun local punters, good booze, lovely big garden out the back great for kids. Overall.. a good boozer.
A busy pub in the centre of Theale village. Two indoor bars and an under cover outside beer garden. The pub serves real ale, lager, as well bar snacks, meals
Pleasant place with colourful characters.. pool table, darts, sky sports. Good outdoor/smoking area and patio. Good cidar mix if that's your thing. Free WiFi. Serve a mean pie.
Lovely little beer garden, could do with more of an ale selection. Met some lovely friendly people
Just called in for a quick drink. And was pleasantly surprised, with such a friendly atmosphere and friendly bar staff. Will definitely return again.
