Well worth a visit and stay, the staff and facilities are great.
The cafe does a cracking coffee and cakes. They also do a nice breakfast if needed to fuel your rides.
The bike shop/mechanic was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.
Great place to stay, would 100% stay here again and recommend to friends.
The rides are just a little hilly for us flatlanders climbed more here in three days than I have all year
Superb staff and facilities in a great location. I have been visiting the shop and café for many years now, mostly as a base to go mountain biking but also somewhere to come with my family and meet friends. The shop is small but with what you need; stuff that works and good advice and service. The food is fabulous and I have always found friendly folks visiting as walks, mountain bikers or road cyclists, young and less young all enjoying themselves. This place just keeps getting better.
Tried a variety of hot drinks all were made to perfection. Home made cakes looked unreal but was too full up to try. Prices were very fair. Very popular but order was taken promptly and food and drinks delivered almost straight away. Food was high quality with only the best ingredients used. 1 star removed due to the toilets.
Wonderful day trip from York! We rented 3 bikes: 2 mountain bikes + 1 e-bike for the non-cyclist among us (me). The Swale Trail was lovely and a very pleasant ride along the river and past green pastures. On the way back, we decided to stick to the road, as it was smoother and had barely any traffic, plus it gave us a different vantage point. It was a bit of an effort to get to the top of the hill, but then it was smooth sailing all the way back down into town.
The best thing about the rental experience, though, was the proprietor. He's the type of person you can instantly sense is a caring and decent human being. He was pleasant, helpful, and graciously accommodating of us making last-minute changes. Truly a pleasure!
It's been a while since we've visited Dales Bike Centre and it did not dissapoint. The new cafe is excellent, the rooms comfy, quiet and clean. Excellent breakfast and superb Yorkshire dales riding. Even though we've ridden there a few times we booked a guided ride which was excellent with 'new to us' trails! great place to base yourself oh and the pubs in Reeth are great with good food and excellent beers, just a short walk from the bike centre.
On a big ride through the Dales this place was brilliant! Sorted my gears out while i had lunch… i would have been in trouble without them.
Great place, friendly atmosphere excellent mechanics, shop and top cafe! 🙌🚵♀️👍👊🤩 thanks 😊
We’ve just cycled the Yorkshire Dales Cycleway as a three generation family and this was the best and most welcome stop on our route. The cycle shop was incredibly friendly when we turned up soaking wet needing to charge a couple of our bikes. We had delicious paninis and cake in the cafe whilst they charged. Due to the very heavy rain we wanted to change our route and a road was closed, the man in the cycle shop (sorry I didn’t catch your name), found us another cyclist in the cafe that had managed to pass the road that we wanted to use. This is an absolute must place to stop. Thank you!
Really helpful staff in the bike shop, sorted me out with explaining shifting as first time hiring road bike. Cafe has a great range of cakes. Already planning when I can come back
The cakes here are all delicious and very reasonable.
English breakfasts tasty and lovely bread used for sandwiches Take away available. We couldnt resist calling in on our way home to purchase 5 cakes for £10.
We went to the cafe after a long hike. The food was excellent and the service great. There is amble indoor and outdoor seating. There’s also a toilet on the site.
You would struggle to have a better group MTB weekend. Stu and his team organised fantastic days rides and the facilities are fantastic for groups. The rooms are shared and use shared bathrooms but he is building new accommodation that will address that. A group of 8 of us had the most fun weekend. Beautiful area and two villages nearby with various eating options. The Dales Bike Centre itself serves and awesome breakfast and has a fabulous coffee shop. Highly recomended.
Just come back from a MTB weekend in the Yorkshire Dales. Stu (and Sean) were brilliant. Great guiding, great scenery, great service, and brilliant breakfasts (the sausages were superb). The Cafe is great, really modern, and the staff were ever so friendly. Nothing was too much, and have some great memories. Btw, the Dales were spectacular!
Highly recommended.
