Welcome from the gent running the bar, front of house and restaurant (it was quiet and he was helping do it all) was excellent. Very friendly and made us feel very comfortable. Quick service, decent food and prices and a nice pub in general.

We are staying at a campsite down the road. Walked up for an early dinner. Obviously out of half term, a Monday and 4pm it was very quiet which is why I gave less for atmosphere.
Jo who served us was great, attentive and very helpful.
We had the burger and my wife had the leek cheese pie.
All very good, piping hot and large portions. Finished off with a share of choc fudge cake.
All in all a good meal, anyone staying on the local campsite its a 20min easy walk.

We went to the Woodman for a family lunch on a Saturday at the end of October. There were 6 adults and 2 under 5 year olds. We were given a table away from the main part of the restaurant, which suited us fine, as we were close to the small indoor children's play area. This had several games in it, some electronic and others not, and was not noisy. The service was good, accommodated our needs and delivered the food quickly once our orders had been placed. The food was of good quality, the right temperature and not very expensive. The tables in the restaurant were laid out with plenty of space between them, so we didn't feel cramped in. There is a large car park with step free access to the restaurant. We would go there again.

Booked online for a table of 4, 2 of my guests were stuck in traffic, we made a call to shuffle the reservation on a 1/2 hour, the call was picked up promptly and the chap on the phone was very polite and helpful. We arrived at the new time, was met by a nice young lady and seated quickly. My elderly Mother can manage chips, so we asked if she could have a jacket potato instead, and this was no problem for your staff, which made her happy. Food came out promptly and was spot on, we all enjoyed our meals. we were asked a couple of times if we were happy, which we all were. I have to say, we eat out a fair bit, and your staff were the best around, we had a very enjoyable experience, and will certainly be going back again. Thank you

First time we had been here. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We had carvery and it all tasted so good. Good variety of veg and meat. Will definitely be going back.

This is the nearest pub to the Back of Beyond camp site which I have now stayed at three time over the years. BoB now have mobile caterers visiting almost every night so there is little reason to go out but the fish and chips was cancelled on Wednesday so I booked the Woodman instead. Food is plentiful and good value. Service was pleasant and efficient. The pub was fairly quiet but that was mid-week.

We went today for Sunday lunch with our family, including 3 young grandchildren. Have been before but never for a carvery. Restaurant was busy, but no chaos at all. We all had a lovely roast. Children played in the lovely garden. Staff friendly, may even book for Christmas. Great value, food, customer service and decor.

The food was ok for a pub lunch the meat was a little cool when it arrived and the chips were coal furnace hot 🔥. If I had to say one thing bad I would say the table cleaner your using is making the tables sticky. And one thing good the young girl who served us at the bar was excellent 👍👍 will probably call again next time we pass.

The pub and garden were tidy and clean, the service by all the staff was excellent and they were extremely friendly.
The food was very nice and all correct too!

My son has numerous allergies and this was the first place I have been able to safely order his very own meal, not have to eat things I've brought, or just chips off my plate. The waitress was brilliant, doing extra cleaning and we ordered with a lady I think was the manager. They have a website where you can filter by allergy and it shows everything you can eat on the menu. I've struggled with eating out for ages and their helpfulness and actually having a range of options literally made me want to cry! Also the BBQ cauliflower wings were delicious!
