Just went for a drink, staff made me very welcome and then the Owner made me equally so.Cherry Porter on handpump-made my day,fabulous quirky conservatory at the back.Will been returning.

Ale was good according to my partner and my tea came in a big brown pot. Was a disappointed when the only food we could get was fish and chips or variations of when all we wanted was a normal sandwich.

Lovely food and well kept cask real ales. Good service and a nice atmosphere though beers are not always to my taste and the range of keg beers is limited to one.

Arrived at 12.40 for a 1.00 booking for a meal. We were directed to our table by a barman/Landlord(?) who was obviously having a bad day. Ordered a round of drinks, which also seemed to be a nuisance. Waited for our food order to be taken. Told we would be next to order 'when we're ready'. Waited a few minutes more and watched the bar staff/(landlady ?) take a food order from another table of people who had just walked in!! Paid our bar bill and left, to find somewhere to eat without the attitude. Wouldn't recommend service but can't comment on the food as we didn't get any!!

Visited recently (Feb 2024) with my wife and 2 young kids when there was new management. We were made to feel welcome and the pub has a nice vibe to it. They had a good selection of beers and the food was excellent - I had the burger and my wife had the pie. Real home cooked pub food. Would definitely recommend.

Great beer selection. 4 or 5 cask ales on last night when I called in. Nice to see a pub selling beers from a variety of lesser known breweries.
