I had the Sunday soup of the moment (tomato and basil) and the roast beef dinner. Absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. We asked for extra gravy and carrots and were served both with no questions asked. Will definately be coming again.

Just on the Oldham Road in Rishworth, the first thing you notice is the views and the relaxing location of The Malthouse. Inside it's comtemorary, with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It's always busy, but never too busy with a mix of old and young, couples and families. The menu is typically English with a fantastic filet steak, great fish n chips and a child's favourate, bangers and mash. For a lighter meal, try the sandwiches or have a starter as a main. This place probably has the best cheeseboard in Yorkshire, it's special.

We have stayed here before and were not impressed. However, this time was much better. The food is good, we had dinner and breakfast. The two rooms we viewed are a little tired particularly the bathrooms. We booked a one night stay which incuded dinner, bed and breakfast. When we went to check out the following morning we were told that dinner on a Sunday only includes a main course. It neither says this on the website nor did anyone inform us when we checked in. Staff were friendly and as I say food very good.
Superb place to eat and thrilled it's local to us. The food quality is superb and we generally go once a week - and whether it's brunch, lunch or dinner, we consistently have a great meal.

Love what they have done with the outdoor area at the back too- quite an atmospheric sun trap in the summer.

Quirky place to stay if in the area and on a budget. Rooms are above a pub. Our room was nicely decorated and had a lot of character. Would have liked softer pillows but that's just a personal preference. Staff were helpful too!

Superb. We stayed for 3 nights. Fabulous staff. Great beers and great food. Very comfortable king size bed, built in such a way as not to disturb your partner when you move. Great shower and bathroom, spotlessly clean and pristine each time we returned. Would heartily recommend. A little bit of traffic noise, but it is on the A58.
A beautiful country pub surrounded by gorgeous hills. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast was absolutely delicious! Definitely would recommend for the food, drinks or somewhere to stay :)
We had pre-booked for a large party and already selected meals beforehand.
The service was excellent, we even managed to order extra starters and change a kids meal and they were brought out within a couple of minutes.
Everyone all ate at the same time with no one waiting for their food and we were constantly asked if we needed more drinks.
Cannot fault the service staff at all, highly accommodating and friendly and all with a smile and polite manners, something that's becoming rare these days.
We were visiting for a weekend otherwise it'd be a long drive to visit again because I would in a heart beat!!

Really lovely place. Nice rooms, good and service. The bar and restaurant is very nice and it has some great views. Rooms are a decent size, clean and comfy.
