We had Sunday lunch outside on a warm sunny day. Great pub garden with enough space and tables for everyone. The roast was delicious with excellent Yorkshire puds and plenty of meat. Puddings also great: would recommend the carrot cake and cheesecake.
Only thing that didn't match was the veggie wellington: too many fennel seeds. Will be coming back!

We stopped for a late lunch this afternoon and its was possibly the best pie, mash and fresh greens I’ve ever eaten. The staff were very friendly and the meal was served hot.
I’d recommend the malthouse restaurant to everyone.

Cosy rooms, clean and warm, with a lot of character. Very good quality amenities and hairdryer. The restaurant was lovely and the food delicious with good size portions, decent prices and tasty. Drinks were lovely too. Good location, easy to walk in the village. I can't wait to be back.

I visit most weeks as Malthouse is my local. The food is consistently fantastic. Pub classics are my favourite but tonight they smashed it out of the park. Lamb rolls and Queenie Scallops were amazing! Keep up the excellent work

Stunning country pub on the main road through Ripponden with easy access to other bars and restaurants and shops.
Had food here a few times. Always top drawer.
No waiting. Recommended booking for Sunday lunch though.
Great atmosphere. Friendly Efficient staff.

We nipped in here for lunch on a whim after attending a meeting at our wedding venue close by. Couldn’t fault a thing!!! The food was absolutely amazing and really good value for money. Service was pleasant and we weren’t left waiting for anything. The steak ciabatta and burger were particularly great. The pub itself is exactly what you want in a pub, really cosy and welcoming atmosphere. We had our daughter with us and she was provided a colouring in menu and crayons which is a nice touch. I’ve actually booked rooms here for our wedding guests in August and I think they’re going to be thrilled. Thanks for a brilliant afternoon.

It was a first visit but definitely won't be the last! We didn't stay in the hotel, we went for a meal. The food was outstanding and beyond great for value. It's the first time I've been silenced by food, my wife thought she had gone deaf. The service staff were very helpful and friendly. Great atmosphere, plenty of parking and we can't wait to come back and sit in the outside area which looks like a cosy summer night waiting to happen 😝 I would definitely recommend this place for a meal. Disabled access also.♿️

Came today 14/1/2024 for food we ate off the Sunday menu. Choice was great and the food was amazing . Will definitely return. We booked a table which is advisable as it was busy. The staff were very attentive and we were served quickly. Food arrived quickly and was hot delicious and plentiful.

Great pub. Outside the bar and function room where my friends got married. Dog friendly with plenty of space. The staff seems great. They even hosted some Xmas markets recently.
The views are great too, a decent size car park.

Visited for the faulty towers evening for my birthday. We had a really good time. the staff were really friendly and made my birthday special. I will remember this birthday for a long time. Thank you so much!
