Me and my friend both thoroughly enjoyed our food we had at the Oakvilla Restaurant. There was a small issue getting the food out as there was a confusion with a larger Christmas party. This wasn't a problem though as the waitresses very quickly picked this up and offered us a free drink as compensation.
Speaking of drinks, their gin is marvelous. I had the Heart of Oak which had been distilled in whiskey barrels, as a whiskey lover this extra touch to the gin was much appreciated. Especially nice with ginger ale (as recommended by the waitress). There's also a garden centre/pet store next door (not related) if you need to kill two birds with one stone!
If you're a foodie give this place a try!
The best burger I've ever had!! Really recommend..and Shaun and his staff are lovely. Really nice and spacious restaurant..a hidden gem in East Harling!
Lovely little place, and the food was delicious.. especially their chips! I could’ve eaten another portion of them!
The only issue we came across was how long the food took to arrive.
I came to the restaurant with my partner, 2 friends and their 2 children. We arrived just before noon and ordered our food. After 50 minutes of waiting and with very hungry toddler we decided to ask how much longer the food will be. The man that dealt with this I can only assume is the manager of the restaurant, he was very apologetic and told us the food would be with us shortly. We finally got our food at 1:06pm as this is the time stamp from the picture I took.
Would definitely go again and hopefully it was just a little slip up with our table as there was technically 6 of us.
Stumbled across this place and so glad we did! Gorgeous setting next to a whiskey distillery - lovely friendly owner, serving South African menu and a great selection of wines!
Really recommend this to anyone in the area, it may seem out of the way but it’s worth the travel!
We used to love coming to The Kitchen Restaurant, as it was previously known, for breakfast or lunch, and decided on the spur of the moment to try Oak Villa Restaurant for dinner on our 17th wedding anniversary. Exceeded our expectations! Food was perfectly cooked and really nicely presented. We shared the Twilight Ocean platter and loved everything about it! We also had a dessert each including Lindi's Malva pudding and South African Apple Tart - both were amazing - best desserts we've had so far in 5 years in the UK! Great value for money too which is an added bonus! Definitely coming back here in the future

Amazingly great place! Brilliant service and a good menu. If you are hardy enough you can even sit outside. Good parking and a walk to the river add to the setting. Great choice of wines to buy to enjoy at home. Cake, coffee,wine and gin and you can even buy whiskey next door offset by a pleasant walk. No wonder we love Norfolk!
Love this place!!!!! I often come here with my husband and now my sister has been converted so we also meet here now :). The food is honestly amazing, super tasty and very good value for money. The staff are so polite and friendly as well. Couldn't fault them tbh :)
Third visit today and impressed once again. Excellent Sunday lunch options! Great atmosphere and service. Hopefully the al fresco dining option will continue beyond the current government restrictions and become a fixture. Very pleasant indeed.

Oak Villa has become somewhat of a sanctuary for my partner and I. Living a few miles down the road, we initially visited as a handy place to grab the occasional breakfast. But with the turbulence of the past 18 months or so and both of us working solidly from home, our house has become somewhat of a “work prison”!
We’ve therefore been spending more and more time at Oak Villa, as the perfect place where we can eat, drink, focus on work and enjoy a different outlook. The impact it’s had on our health has been nothing short of incredible.
Shaun and his entire team are welcoming, professional and above all, nothing is too much trouble. Not to mention the fact that the food is incredible.
Whilst I’ve already written to Shaun personally to thank him, this is to thank the entire Oak Villa team, as I don’t think they will ever know the impact they’ve had on us personally during the testing times we’ve all been through in 2020/21.
Visit… eat… drink… chat… enjoy the surroundings. You won’t regret it.
