The Cod Father

Good banter in the shop prior to ordering, my girlfriend is coeliac, so the offering was limited unfortunately battered sausage or chicken nuggets, she opted for the battered sausage and I had large cod & chips, we sat out side with two cans of cider and enjoyed an hour of eating and watching the world go by.

Home delivery whilst renting a cottage on holiday. At home we always have a large cod each and share a large chips so we ordered the same. Quantity first. The cod were enormous and the box of chips were too much for us to finish. Quality - Excellent - arrived piping hot - straight on to plates for eating. Staff - Lady who took my telephone order was obviously busy but remained cheerful throughout. If we holiday in Ryde again will definitely be using again.

Today we found the hardest working youngsters on the Isle of Wight!🏆 Where? I hear you ask.. well it was at The Codfather in Ryde and they were fabulous! We walked from Appelby to find food and everywhere chose to either close earlier than their websites or just close the kitchens because they felt like it! But not @thecodfather 🥳 Not only were they open, but everyone of them smiled throughout a mega busy shift and even informed their customers that they had a few deliveries to pack first but gave us an exact time when we would be served but we were served within 2 minutes and also our dinner was piping hot 🐟💟🏆Bravo Hannah, Georgia, Harrison and Daisy (08/09/23 7:45pm) and thank you for the best customer service on the island and probably south of England too 🤓💟🐟🏆 #coolkids@thecodfatherryde

Fantastic chip shop.! The only shop selling real chips, not fries.! Proper seaside fish and chips.! Freshly cooked and very tasty.! They are island famous for a reason.! Don't be fooled, you can't get this quality of food any where else on the seafront. Original and still the best.! !! Why come to the seaside and not have REAL SEASIDE FISH AND CHIPS.? !
