The Anchor And Hope

Nice pub tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. By the sounds of other reviews it's been revamped recently, and they've done a good job. Salisbury is certainly not short of pubs/restaurants, but if you want somewhere a little quieter with decent food, this place is just the ticket. Just a few minutes walk from the Cathedral, this place fitted the bill perfectly. We were greeted warmly by the staff when we arrived (my brother and I) on a Sunday afternoon. FYI, this place is dog friendly which is a welcome bonus. Ordering food was easy and arrived pretty quickly. The menu is a little limited (pizzas only), but maybe that was the time/day we were visiting. Regardless, the food was very good; apparently cooked in a wood fired oven (though don't quote me on that). I had the standard cheese and tomato pizza, which looked great. Obviously freshly cooked and not out of a box. The pub itself looks tidy and smart. There's seating inside (with a pool table) and plenty of seating outside for the occasional sunny day (which I'm glad to report it was for a change). Would happily visit again. Keep up the good work.
