Owen’s Ice Cream

I was thrilled with my experience at Owen’s Ice Cream in Sandwich. We were a rather large group, and the staff handled our order perfectly and with a really fun attitude. And, oh, my hot fudge sundae was fabulous! I had the mint chocolate chip ice cream... delicious!!! We will be back regularly for sure! Awesome!

This ice cream shop is seasonally open. They have new owners this year. The staff was very friendly the ice cream size was average. They didn't seem to have as many flavors as the previous owner but it may have been because it was early in the season. I like the place because you can get different size ice creams and Sundaes it's not just one size. The hot fudge was delicious, the large ice cream cone we got two flavors and it seemed to have mostly one flavor and a tiny little dollop of the second flavor, ice cream flavors we got were very good and they have gluten-free cones as well. They have free parking and outdoor seating and some indoor seating.

If you’re looking for the best homemade ice cream on the cape this is your place! The variety of flavors is amazing and you’ll be back for more. In fact, you can bring your favorite flavor home in their hand packed quarts. Stopping for lunch first, even better! Try the overstuffed fresh lobster salad on a buttery toasted roll. You won’t be disappointed! There’s something for everyone; awesome clam chowder, amazing variety of grilled cheese, and of course the classic grilled hotdogs. Congratulations to Don Owen for a fabulous first season!!!

This place is awesome! The service was super friendly and the homemade ice cream is amazing - with a large variety of flavors. Also, on two of my visits this summer, I ordered the lobster roll which was fantastic. Both times, it came stuffed with delicious lobster meat in a grilled roll that was was very tasty (I learned the owner, Don, special orders them from a bakery in NY.)

Owen's is the home of the former Ice Cream Sandwich. My husband had the butter crunch and loved it so much we had to return for another visit. I had the chocolate and on the second trip the mocha espresso. Both were pretty good. Although I would love to see the new owners add a Dutch chocolate with fudge and chocolate chunks like the former shop's Extreme chocolate. They need a bit more variety but since this is their first season I understand why they might want to initially offer a limited selection. We will return!
