Had a really good meal - brilliant lunch time menu choices and as always the cheese burger didn't let me down and I have to say the staff were to accommodating towards my little boy. As soon as we walked in they got him a "special chair" brought over plastic cutlery and books to keep him occupied and spoke to him and made him feel very comfortable. No funny looks with that "oh great a toddler" vibe - really lovely and welcoming. Thank you �
It is the best burger bar in South Yorkshire for all the family! The cheese sauce is to die for the staff are lovely ....... Everyone works really hard to get the 'show on the road'. Food is very reasonable , hot tasty and fresh. Can't fault it .... Fabulous little train to keep the kids amused..... Have been going since God was a lad �� xx
Saturday lunch
Used to come here years and years ago and remembered the train that goes around. Found myself on Ecclesall Road and saw it and thought wonder if it is still as good. YES it is, food Lesley and plenty of it, excellent service. Will definitely not leave it as long next time.
We stopped for lunch on Ecclesall road at Uncle Sams burger house,where I had eaten many years before.
the place is just as good as it always was ,and I was glad to see the train going round on the tracks above our heads still.
The burger with white cheese (a closely guarded secret apparently)is world class and delicious.The relish tray was left on our table and we enjoyed the busy bustle of the place.
Great service and good value .Enjoyed it immensely.

I've been visiting Uncle Sams since I was in a High-chair and a bib, over 20 years ago and I don't recall being dissatisfied once! the food is the usual american diner fayre. The burgers are flamegrilled and hefty, the cheeseburgers come with a cheese sauce that's like nothing I've had anywhere else (it might not be to everyones taste but I love it!). I definitely recommend a 'Nachos supreme' (to share) for a starter - fresh tortilla nachos (not dorito-type rubbish you get elsewhere) loaded with chilli con carne, sour cream, guacamole, jalepenos and melted cheese. The decor holds nostalgia for me, though may be considered dated/cluttered to others. Tables can't be booked in advance so its a case of waiting in the bar when busy, which it often is, but I think its worth the wait!
Uncle SAMs, like some American resturants in sheffield, can be a bit hit and miss but they make a hearty chilli to spicy nachos. Good 6/10

It's lots of fun great cheap food and the puddings are gourgous got to try if your visiting Sheffield it's for anybody and everybody don't miss it on ecclesall rd with it's train running around the ceiling
Honestly the best restaurant in Sheffield proper good food good portions very reasonably priced friendly staff there's a train going along the roof what more could you want try the Coke floats I had mine with vinto
Have always loved Uncle Sam's since I was much younger until now, to celebrate my 51st birthday. Best nachos I've ever had so it's the simple cheese and jalapeno for me. Always friendly staff and simple but always great menu. Nostalgic? Absolutely, but that doesn't stop it from being just great. Their longevity is a testament to their consistent greatness.
Brilliant place to eat. They were very vegetarian friendly, even to swap out our meal to a vegetarian one. The service was top quality, cheerful and wholesome. The service was very helpful, and they were not wasteful of their food, giving the non-vegetarian option to another lot of customers. The food was magnificent, tasteful, well put together and creative; a lot of variety in the menu, a lot of different tastes in my burger. Will definitely go again.
Been going here since the 70’s. Some things have sadly changed over the years, but the burgers are still great! Very beefy, very filling! And the cheese sauce is still amazing (but smaller portions 🥴)

We came to celebrate a teenage birthday as a family and this was an evening to remember. I have been before, but no-one else has as it is a 45 minute journey across South Yorkshire to get here.
Staff were so friendly, attentive and accommodating. The food was divine, as it always is, and everyone's dishes arrived together. The staff really cannot do enough for you and this is one of the reasons I love Uncle Sam's.
Off the back of our visit, members of our party have returned individually and recommended to their friends and other family members, so we are spreading the word - book Uncle Sam's!

Been a while since we came here, and it is still as good as the last time. Great atmosphere, great staff, very efficient service. Nice to see they still have the same layout with the train circling round above. This formula has worked for many years, and will continue to do so. We'll be back for sure.
The food and service today was as good as it was in 1976, when, as students, we first discovered the joys of US. Three still very happy, very full people. Just more grey hair! Thanks team US
Great food, fantastic service. Great American style restaurant. Has been going for years is older than me. But still fantastic. Will definitely go again.
